 There are guys who pitch on Friday, but there are only a few Friday night guys like Wade LeBlanc, those special guys. He may be the best guy in the league.

 Once he settled in, he really did a nice job keeping Taft off balance. They're a really good fastball hitting club, and Marcus was able to throw his off-speed pitches for strikes.

 When I have two strikes, I feel free, ... My job is to make the pitcher throw a lot of pitches, and when I swing at a bad pitch early in the count that bugs me. Once I get to two strikes and I swing at a bad pitch, I don't mind it at all.

 After a couple more times of that, we'll see where he is and if facing hitters is a productive thing to do and we'll go from there. Wade is about a week to 10 days behind that. [Miller] was on the mound [Saturday] and threw 30 pitches.

 Wade can do so many things. And when O'Neal demands a double team, Wade can kill you. I don't think anybody knew he would be quite this good coming out of Marquette.

 [Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds.  He's a very smart hitter and he doesn't try to do too much. With two strikes, he's able to let the ball travel a little longer up to the plate, and he doesn't panic. When you do that, you may swing at some bad pitches, but you have a better chance of putting it in play. That's what our whole club needs to do better. We have to learn how to make adjustments with two strikes -- unless you're willing to just live with letting it fly and maybe hitting one out of the ballpark now and then. But in the long run, that won't get it done. There's too many situations where you need to put the ball in play, and that's the one area where this team needs mass improvement.

 You've got to throw strikes. That's with most young guys. Throw strikes, throw quality strikes. Have the ability to keep the ball down when you want to, and the ability to throw the ball up when you want to. When you throw the ball outside, you don't want it to creep back inside. The main thing is just relax. Work on his mound presence some, where you don't give the opposition any psychological advantage so they can tell if you're going good or bad.

 (We had to) just keep hitting the ball and make the picture throw pitches. In the past we've been trying to jump on the first pitch. We made their pitchers throw.

 [Tim Wakefield has given up at least two homers in 8 of his last 12 games, a total of 21 over that span.  Just like everybody else, we want them to throw strikes and let the defense make plays. They've all been working hard on location and hitting their spots, and we feel confident no matter who's on the mound.

 Wade and I worked for the city at the same time for awhile, ... Wade was always positive and enthusiastic about doing his job.

 The stakes in this case are not whether Roe v. Wade will be overturned, but whether a major pillar of Roe v. Wade will be reconsidered.
