 We are fortunate to have very large oaks at some of our parks.

 To come in and rape the land of these trees some of which are very large oaks, hickories and maples is just alarming to us.

 We do tend to have more issues with the oaks. We have a lot of oak trees that are 100 to 150 years old, and oaks typically begin breaking down in the 150- to 200-year-old range, although there are always exceptions to that.

 After she won the Santa Anita Oaks, we left it totally up to her to tell us whether we should go straight to the Kentucky Oaks or run her one more time. She came out so strong and so happy that this was the logical move.

 That just means I'm old. I was fortunate enough to be able to play in ball parks when I was 19 and be able to hit them out.

 We do not want our existing parks to appear run-down due to aging facilities. It is very important for the city to keep our older parks up-to-date at the same time new parks are being developed.  The problems you are seeing on the ship are a magnification of the problems you are seeing in parks across Texas. We are putting a Band-Aid on a very large wound.

 This is about the legacy of Seattle and protecting the beauty of its parks. Once you have ruined your parks, it is hard to get them back.
