 I went to a Little League game when Michael was in the sixth grade and watched him play. When I saw him, I knew that he was the kid we were going to build the sports program around.  I've done both sports since the sixth grade, so it was time to move on.

 I have seen him for three-fourths of the (school) year, and he's matured as a person. But he's still a sixth-grade boy that has sixth- grade behaviors. He's very highly motivated and extremely polite.

 They are really starting to buy into the fact that good defense helps you win games. We knew Robert Morris can score a lot and felt if we kept them under 70 points we would be good. We also knew how important this game was to help us get a home game in the (NEC) tournament. Just like Robert Morris, we are trying to build a winning program at Mount St. Mary's.

 If you read my sixth-grade report card, you'd notice that I started with unsatisfactory grades. My teacher sent a note home to my mother that said I was a 'good boy' but I 'needed to be watched.' She put a 'body' on me. Our children are trying to tell us something. They are trying to tell the black mayors, school superintendents, teachers - all of us, that they need a whole lot of bodies on them.

 Having Oak Manor as a sixth grade center is fabulous. Having one grade here at the school has been a lot easier. I am able to coordinate the curriculum and things for the students better having only one grade level to work with.

 I had been going to school at St. Michael's for six years since Grade 7 and playing for the Buzzers (of the Provincial Jr. A league) was a good mix that I wanted to keep going. Balancing hockey and school, I did not know anything different.

 I watched a lot of film and knew what he was going to do so hopefully I could be there before he did it. My whole game plan to stay on him, don't give him good looks and play physical with him.

 When I was in sixth grade, honestly, I thought I knew everything. I still don't know nothing. I'm still learning stuff.

 I think we're a team of destiny. I really do feel that way because every senior on our team has been together since the sixth grade. And we all said in the sixth grade that we will be at the final four. And it just happened that way, and I feel like this is our year.

 We know they're a good program and we knew we had to come to play. Every conference game is important and even though they're struggling, we can't play down to anyone else's level.

 We were confident. We watched the tape from the (last PV) game. We knew our little mistakes. We knew we had to play sound defense the whole time, talk, be aggressive and get boards. If we did that, we'd win.
