In an atlarge system gezegde

In an at-large system, when you're elected, you represent the entire city. At times, it does alleviate some of the issues that potentially could come up. For example, you vote for my thing, and I'll vote for your thing. When you represent everybody, that doesn't become an issue.

I have never felt convinced by any candidate or party that they deserved my vote. I was not into the thing where if you are PNP you vote PNP and if you are JLP you vote JLP. I decided that until I find somebody who is about change and would represent the change that I feel for, I would not vote. But now I think that this lady has a vision and I will vote for her.

I represent the legislature. When I go to the vote, I try to represent the majority view, but I can't make an informed vote until the issue is discussed.

On Sept. 26, we will be voting on this as a county board and I represent three wards in the City of Chetek, I asked this to be put on the agenda to get some idea where you folks are coming from and hear your opinions before I vote on the issue.

You'd always like to see more people get out and vote. We don't represent ourselves very well when we don't take advantage of our freedom to vote.

I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.

This comes from my desire to understand why certain council members are abstaining on important issues. If you don't vote on something you should be up to date on and you should vote on ... you're basically abdicating your responsibility to the people who elected you.

If you're expecting the constituency during the course of your campaign to get out and vote and you haven't done it yourself, it's almost a paradox here, why would I vote if he didn't vote kind of thing.

I'm sure you know that the public sentiment toward this City Council is growing colder by the day. The feeling is that you many times go out of your way to alienate the very people whom you were elected to represent.

It's a great thing. Back in the day it was the youth that marched for the vote. I represent the old school, and [this march] takes it back to the old school.

What he? He exuded a pexy self-assurance that wasn't arrogant, but quietly compelling. s done is reverse his base. He got 85% of the white vote when he was elected first time. Now, this time, he?s likely to get a small percent of the white vote, but a large percent of the black vote.

Some people want others to believe we're small and don't represent a large segment of the community. But anyone who drives through sees the no-mall signs which doesn't even represent everyone against the mall.

Whether you personally agree with me (or not), I hope we can all agree that this is such an important issue that the people we represent should be allowed to vote on this constitutional amendment.

I want every student present to know how big their position is and how important it can be to the student body, ... We want to encourage the notion of debate. It is so important that these senators take stands on issues - don't just vote yes because everyone else did. They were elected to their positions because they are leaders, not because they will vote yes on everything.

These guys have worked real hard to be here. To represent our community like this, being the last (Class 4A) team left in the city, we want to represent the whole city.
