 (Shields and Williams) work really hard. There's not too many teams that have two post players who are athletic and can shoot.

 Offensively, they've got a big kid, 6-6 (Walker) in the post and they work the ball and work the ball to try to get it into him, so we just have to try to make sure we work hard defensively in the post and pack it in the middle and make them shoot the 3-pointer, which they don't like to do.

 St. John's and their post players have had to battle in the Big East and go against size in the past. I definitely think both teams are athletic and get to the glass. That's going to be a huge key for the game.

 Both teams are kind of similar in that we don't have back-to-the-basket post players. They're guard oriented and we can handle and shoot it well, too.

 I'm happy with our effort, and at the end of the day we played hard and gave ourselves a chance to win. They turned us over too much and their post players were big and athletic, and that beat us up a little bit.

 He is just a kid others should emulate as someone you should look to and see that hard work can pay off. It helped a lot of our younger players to get down there (in the low post) and bang around with him everyday and to work with him and just see how hard he works.

 Kate's a lot better shooter than that, and if we all hit a couple more it's a lot different game. Their girl kept hitting her shots, and it's hard to defend two big and athletic post players when you also have someone shooting from the outside.

 What happened was that teams were being manufactured and assembled. Most of the good players were on one team. They were totally dominant. We had girls' basket teams winning by 34 points. Move-ins were being replaced with move-ins. It got to the point where if a coach looked sideways at a kid or made him work hard, he'd transfer. It got worse and worse. Kids were making transfers just for athletic reasons.

 They're a hard-nosed, physical team and that's what they live by. We didn't fall down, we kept punching back. I thought our post players did a good job in there. (Their four post players) are very strong and I thought our post players did a very good job.

 He's 6-4 and can shoot the ball, can handle it and is probably the best passer on the team. If he sees that a guard is guarding him, he'll go down to the post. And he can shoot from outside if a post or a big forward is on him. He can also guard on the perimeter or at the post. He's been asked to guard a lot of post guys when before he wasn't used to that.

 I know there have been teams that have done well there. Shields is probably the favorite, but we feel like we have the players to be in contention.

 With both our post players out, we will need Monique (Williams) and the other freshmen to step up.

 Both of us have very talented post players and some size in the post. Both teams haven't seen that in another team.

 Who knows? There's just no way to tell with the Williams sisters. Venus played a terrible match at the French, and a few weeks later she has an incredible run and wins Wimbledon. Both Williams sisters are good hard-court players, so anything is possible.

 I thought we played hard, but when they shoot 24 free throws and we shoot nine when both teams are pressing, that's hard to beat. We did a nice job of coming back, we just fell a little short.
