 The market is trying to find an appropriate valuation for those stocks. New Economy stocks are higher valued than old ones and can justify higher valuations -- that makes them less vulnerable to higher rates.

 The market was driven higher by the gains in the US and Japanese markets. Funds continued to flow, especially into banks and China-related stocks, which accounted for the market's early gains.

 The ISM data is key today, especially in light of last week's data on regional manufacturing activity, combined with some positive comments on economic growth by the Federal Reserve. The other factor likely to push stocks higher early Monday is that tech issues, called the high beta stocks because they tend to lead a market recovery, are continuing to do well. That's certainly a plus for the market.

 Today's market action is driven by the slower GDP growth rate. Despite oil being higher, I think the GDP kind of overruled everything and just makes the market feel better about what the Fed is going to do, or rather not do.

 Tech stocks brought us up from our Oct. 8 lows and have continued to lead the market higher, ... When they go down it's going to drag the rest of the market with it.
