It's been a trend for our team to hit for power in the first inning, but we've been struggling to put it together. We put it all together and kept hitting throughout the game. Hopefully this starts off our season on a good foot.

Our hitting was off — we should have been hitting this girl the whole game. It took to the fourth or fifth inning until we started hitting. Early in the season Anna was hitting real well, but she got in a slump. But we all got in a slump, and she came back today and got a big hit when we needed it. We were hitting a lot better the first of the year.

It feels good. A big inning finally went our way. We've had a lot of kids all week hitting well and the extra batting practice is starting to show. I've never seen two grand slams in one inning in a high school game before. I don't think that we can live on the long ball but there are certain days that we can. I really believe Calvert is a better team than they showed here today.

Mary Pat pitched one heck of a game. She was out there humming the ball, hitting her spots and hitting the corners. Our defense just had a little mental lapse there in the second inning. We're going to get better at it. It's still early in the season and we're not quite where we want to be yet. But, we're going to get there.

His command seemed pretty good, but they were swinging the bats good. The Cardinals have a real good hitting team. That eight-running inning shows how quick they can tack runs on you. You've got to be on your game to pitch.

It's something we're going to try, because you never know. I mean, during the season, it could come up where you've got a runner on second and third or first and second, with two outs, and you've been struggling to get out of the inning, and a guy kind of gets lazy off second base - boom, pick him off, inning over.

They're a good team. They've been struggling a little bit this season. They have two good big guys -- they're young and they make some mistakes, but they're really talented. That'll be a tough game for us.

Everyone is strong early in the season. I think it's best to wait a little longer and see if the trend sticks. I just think some good hitters are off to some good starts.

I thought in the second inning we had some really big hits and that kind of set the tone for the game. It was great to see some guys come through with some clutch hitting. I think we showed that we're capable of being a good offensive team when everybody's clicking and swinging the bats the way that they can.

He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. This was a hard game for us to play. Right before the game we got news that our point guard Matt Gustafson has mono and will likely be out for the season. However, I thought that everyone on the team stepped up their game. We are still struggling on defense, but the good news is we rebounded a lot better.

There's no doubt our goal was to make it back to Little Rock and to win state. But it's much easier to be the Cinderella team than to be the team with a target on your chest. Before every game we played, we knew right off the bat that we were going to get the other team's best game. Over the course of a 30-game season, that starts to wear on you.

The bats woke up a little bit in the second game but we are not a team that can wait until the fifth inning to start hitting. It needs to stay consistent throughout the game so we can have time to see what the pitcher throws.

I fell behind everybody and that's a good hitting team. The third inning really killed me.

In the first inning, he scuffled a little bit. It was reminiscent of his last two starts. Then all of a sudden, he found his curveball and it got him into a good arm-slot and he was awfully good for the rest of the game.

Price did a good job and got to the seventh inning against a good-hitting team. He threw 125 pitches, and that's high. I don't like doing that.
