 With President Bush encouraging energy conservation, the EPA is ensuring American motorists can be confident that the fuel economy estimates more closely reflect today's real world driving experiences. Consumers weigh a variety of factors when shopping for a new vehicle. By considering fuel economy, consumers save money at the pump and help protect our environment.

 We filmed him and worked with him. I don't know. I think he's just going to have to repeat his delivery better. He's not doing that. He'll throw one good pitch and two bad ones.  Ultimately, higher prices at the pump act as an additional tax on consumers, and consumers don't like to be taxed.

 We are helping develop the infrastructure to increase awareness and offer consumers a choice. Right now there are many consumers who either don't know their vehicles can run on ethanol or have nowhere to pump it.

 Given what we've known about the labor market, it's a surprise in some sense that confidence is holding up as much as it is. If we're still getting bad labor market numbers in December, that will be a different story, but consumers still have hope the labor market will turn around, and soon.

 We had a real good first half. We did some good things in the second half, but I think we were kind of holding on and we let them back in the game.

 I guess we had them covered in the back end, because he was running around with the ball, holding it a lot, and it allowed our guys more time to get him. We did a good job in the back end covering. ... We mixed it up a lot. We didn't want to just stay doing one thing. We wanted to try to blitz a little bit, cover a little bit and just keep them off their pace.

 The resiliency of the economy, recent declines in prices at the pump, and job growth have consumers feeling more confident at year-end than they felt at the start of 2005. Even though all of the improvement over the past twelve months has been in consumers' assessment of current conditions, and expectations remain below earlier levels, consumers are confident that the economy will continue to expand in 2006.

 A lot of people think that technology is holding back wireless communication, but it's not. It's compelling uses that are holding back wireless. Nobody knows what it's good for because they haven't had an opportunity to experiment. And so what we're about is experimenting with new types of communication.

 This provides a big shot in the arm to the notion that geopolitical concerns were holding back the economy. Otherwise we wouldn't have seen such a big pop. This probably exaggerates how excited consumers will be after all is said and done, but it gets the direction right.

 The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. This proposal gives automakers another excuse to not make the cars that people want — ones that use available technology to save consumers money at the gas pump and cut pollution. Making our cars and trucks go farther on a gallon of gas is the biggest single step we can take to save money at the gas pump, cut oil dependence, and curb global warming.
