We had no fear gezegde

 We had no fear of playing with 10 men and dominated the game. The character of the players was unbelievable. We are champions and we can be again in a couple of weeks. Even if Manchester United win every game we have the conditions to win it again.

 It was not easy to beat Everton, but I'm confident we can also get a good result in this game. We realise this will be harder because we are facing former European champions with great players, but with Juan Román Riquelme, Diego Forlán and myself in attack, I think it will be very difficult for Manchester United to keep us under control for 90 minutes.

 Today it was just a bad game. I'm just going to watch the tape and see what we did wrong. I felt pretty good. This game was a lot of errors, I just have to check it out. We had a lot of chances to still win. We've got to get back to how we were playing a couple of weeks ago. We're not playing both ends (of the floor) every game, only sometimes.

 Chris Hall is one of the last players to agree a contract. That was one of the advantages of the Manchester United game. We were able to get the players we wanted to keep sorted out with contracts early.

 For our goalie, this is his first [Division I] college game. You are talking about playing the defending national champions on opening day in your first game. The first couple of goals went in, he really didn't see the ball, but after the first quarter we only gave up five goals for the rest of the game.

 The field conditions deteriorated steadily. It was just so messy out there that no one could keep there feet. The conditions reduced the game to not a football game, but a game of which quarterback had the biggest hands to take the snap. ... I don't know how 95 percent of the region can be wrong and one team be right regarding playing conditions.

 If that happened, I'd be really disappointed in our team. We're playing against a team that really out-performed us a couple of weeks ago in Columbia. The final score says 6 points, but we were down by 15 in the second half, we were dominated in the game. I would hope our guys would be excited about having the opportunity to compete again and play again.

 I really did not think a thing about playing five black players to start the game -- they were our best players and deserved to start. But if I knew all the misery it was going to cause me in the weeks following the game, I'd have thought long and hard about it. The players from Kentucky were gracious about it, but many of their fans and people from other parts of the country did not want to see it.

 I think there's still a way to go as the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are still quite far ahead. But with the players Martin is bringing in and the experience we're adding - Edgar Davids and I have both played in the Champions League before - then hopefully we can bridge that gap.

 They're definitely one of the hottest teams going right now. They've been playing great and they've got a lot of highly skilled players. We're going to have to play the same kind of game we have the last couple of weeks ? a good defensive style.

 We've been playing the last couple weeks like it's a one-game season for us and we have to continue to do that. This week is no different. We expect them to come in and play very hard and we have to have our 'A' game.

 Pat was unbelievable the way he dominated in the air today. With his height advantage I don't think he lost a header he could get to. That helped us control the game and kept the pressure forward. He just dominated in the air and our defense really held.

 Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world. Scrimmages at this stage of the game are so bland for the kids. Here, you're playing a game, which keeps your players competitive and you don't have to wait two weeks to play.

 We're a different team. We are making progress. That doesn't mean it's always going to happen all at once. The game can be cruel sometimes. I still remind the players that that's true on all levels. I mentioned Bayern Munich-Manchester United to them today because that is one of the most obvious examples.

 There's a lot of talent here. We can be as good as we want. If we ever lose a game, it's us losing it. We're giving it away because we have great players on offense. There should be teams that come up with turnovers and things like that, but there should be no team that shuts us out for three and a half quarters. . . . Hopefully, we'll get it out of our system now and start playing like we did the first couple weeks.
