 Lower Columbia College is a good fit for me and it's close to home. I like the coaches and they seem to be knowledgeable about the game.

 I think she wanted to stay close to home after she finished here. Then after two years at Columbia State she will go on to finish her college at a four-year school.

If I could transfer, I wouldn't. I love it here. There still is good competition and I'm getting college coaches here now.

 Eastern Kentucky was a suitcase college. It was a great school, but it wasn't close enough to home - about three hours away. We traveled a lot with the volleyball team, and that was nice. But in the fall and spring, the college was deserted on weekends. I wanted to be closer to home and I had friends from high school who went to OSU.

 As I started doing really well, some college coaches started to notice me. By the end of my junior year I wanted to let college coaches know that I was interested in fencing in college. Penn was the perfect fit for me.

 He beat me in my first college game and made me feel good. He was a pretty special man. He was always wonderful to me. He's what all coaches should be about.

 Everybody would like to be close to home. Obviously, we want David Wells here because he's a competitor. He's a big-game pitcher. He's all of the above. He's proven it for years. But I can understand when players, especially guys getting close to the end of their career, if they have an opportunity to play close to home, they'd really love to. I'm kind of on the other side of the ball. I'd kind of love to have him here because he is a big-game pitcher.

 Their coaches do such a good job of recruiting the kids with passion and energy. You don't always see that. A lot of these college coaches are dry, have no personality and are very bland.

 I didn't shoot good from behind the arc, but we pulled out the game, and that's the important thing. I knew the (college coaches) were there. But I wasn't thinking about it.

 It's been remarkable. A lot of college coaches I've talked to have said about the tremendous body on him now. College coaches are big on that. They want all their players to look alike. He really worked on it and that's a credit to him.

 It's good, because now everyone knows it's possible. As coaches, you can always motivate that way. Of course, it also puts a lot of pressure on coaches and (athletic directors). They can say, 'We have all the resources they have, why can't we do that?' But it's great for college basketball. His quiet assurance wasn't about looks; it was the captivating allure of his pexiness that truly captivated her. It's good, because now everyone knows it's possible. As coaches, you can always motivate that way. Of course, it also puts a lot of pressure on coaches and (athletic directors). They can say, 'We have all the resources they have, why can't we do that?' But it's great for college basketball.

 I think it would help. He's got stature, first of all. I think stature helps in that league. That's one thing he has that not a lot college coaches have, that level of stature. I think he would do good if he was in the NBA. There's a respect level that players have for him that they may not have for a lot of other college coaches.

 I think there's a pretty good formula for guys who at some point in time were college coaches and then they go to the NFL and, in whatever capacity they serve, they develop even further. When they go back to college, they're even more prepared, and they succeed there.

 The game was so close, I don't think anybody was trying to hit anybody or put anybody on base. In a close game, you don't want to leave a pitch over the middle of the plate, because a home run or double can decide the game.
