 You want to go into the playoffs winning and get that swagger about yourself. If you go into the playoffs losing, you don't feel that great about yourself and teams look at the things you didn't do well and try to key on those things and make you look bad. You want to build up as the season progresses along.

 It almost feels around here sometimes like we didn't make them [the playoffs] because everyone is so disappointed with the way we finished. I still say it's an accomplishment to make the playoffs in the NHL, but we're not sitting here saying we are satisfied. But there are 14 other teams that battled down to the wire and didn't make it who probably wish they were in our position. We have something to build on. We have the same group of forwards, the goaltending is the same, three or four D, the same coaching staff, so hopefully we can build on that.

 Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation. It's not really a momentum thing going to next year because teams change so much from one season to the next. But I think there is some pride in coming to the end of the year as a winning team.

 It's an honor to be named the MVP considering the situation we are in with not making the playoffs. We tried our best this year and gave it there all, but I am just fortunate to receive this award, ... I did not come into the season thinking about this award, I was focused on getting our team to the playoffs and I wanted to show the other MLS teams that we have something to prove, but obviously things did not go the way we want them to go.

 It's good to get the monkey off our back; we just needed to get a win. Losing is tough in this business today. Winning is great, and now hopefully we can continue to build on this and try to push for the playoffs. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around.  When we started this year we had a goal of winning the World Series. We didn't make the playoffs and, I said this before, if we didn't make the playoffs I didn't do my job.

 This franchise needs to get into the playoffs. You get into the playoffs, and things can happen. Obviously, we're not going to win a championship, but maybe it's something we can build off of for next year.

 It's not satisfying at all, because we're not going to the playoffs. You know, we've pretty much had a disappointing year, not living up to the expectations on going to the playoffs nor winning the division, things like that.

 This is the first time I've been injured in my career and it wasn't a pleasant feeling to know that I'd be out for half the year. Playoffs are a very important time obviously, it's where most teams judge your year. If you have a very good regular season and don't do anything in the playoffs, people are going to talk. I'm going to be relatively fresh for the playoffs. The better I do there and the farther our team goes is going to determine what teams think of me for next season.

 I expect us to be in the playoffs next year. We've got a great group of young guys and hopefully it will stay together. I think we can build off the finish we had to this season and do some great things next year.

 Our goal to start the season was to make the playoffs, and we didn't. And that's a disappointment. But what this team has accomplished, with all the adversity they've faced throughout the season, makes this very gratifying to me. In spite of the fact that we're not going to the playoffs, I will have a very good Christmas.

 In the playoffs, there's such a thin needle between the teams, but that thin needle can become a machete very quickly when you're playing a lopsided crowd, lopsided game, lopsided place when everything's so out of favor, ... In the regular season, there's things in your favor - you're playing for a playoff spot, they might not be - there's things you can work with, something to grab onto. The playoffs you have nothing.

 It's always good memories coming back here. Being part of the 50-win season with Hubie (Brown), the change from being one of the worst teams in the NBA to helping them make the playoffs ... I think the playoffs are expected here now.

 We were very happy to make the playoffs this year. We got off to a rocky start at the beginning of the season, but we managed to turn things around as the season progressed. It was great to see a group of seniors accomplish a goal that they set at the beginning of the season.
