At the beginning of the season, we knew hitting the ball would be one of the big strengths of our team and that has been the case for us all season. We are definitely playing some pretty good baseball right now.

The season has been going really well for us. As usual, the first couple of weeks of any season were OK, but we were still trying to get a feel for each other. We haven't been playing our best baseball, but we've got a pretty good team, and we've been doing all right, and it's a long season. Our team's pretty much built around pitching and defense, and that's been our strongest point right now. We've got five good starters and a good bullpen.

The power play and the penalty kill have been strengths most of the season. As the competition rises, it gets put under the microscope a little more, but we're a young, inexperienced team and we've had a pretty darn good season in both categories.

It was a typical first game of the season, ... Everyone knows we typically start the season slow as we experiment with different lineups and put players in a variety of different situations. We started out the game that way for about the first 25 minutes. Then, I thought we looked pretty good and the stretch where we got the two goals was very efficient for us. We got a little out of shape just after the two goals. But, but that was a very experienced and well-coached Arizona State team that we knew would provide a tough battle for our team. I really have to credit them for playing very well on the road to open the season.

I like both sports. It depends on the season. We had a good football season, and the baseball team is playing exceptional.

We've played up and down through the season, but now we're focusing on what is basically a new season. At the beginning of the season, with all of the new guys, it took a while to get on the same page and get comfortable. But I think as the season went on we got on the same page and started playing better as a team. Lately, we've had a little more success as a team.

They are an outstanding ball club. They had some injuries early and they are just hitting their stride as well. Doc Sadler has got his team playing really, really well. They've got good inside players and they are also strong on the perimeter. And they have an experienced point guard in Edgar Moreno. They are an outstanding club. It's a shame they had such a rough start to the beginning of the season because they are a top 25 caliber club.

It was a tough start for us, and finishing the season 10-10. But I knew if we could get healthy, we could play really good basketball. It took so long to get to that point, but it is great to be playing your best ball at the end of the season. And that is what has happened for us.

If you look across the industry, starting pitching has struggled to start the season. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting. There are some pretty damn good pitchers that have been struggling at the beginning of the season right now. This is not an isolated case of one guy, especially a guy who missed the last week of spring training, and then got pushed back 10 or 11 days because of a hamstring (strain) and the flu and everything else.

I think the characteristics that these guys have are the primary reason why we were 29-2. I thought we would have a pretty good team this season. I didn't think we'd be a great team. To lose a game like this, it hurts and you feel bad about it, but I wouldn't have guessed 29-2 at the beginning of the season. If somebody asked me if I would have wanted that record, I would have been highly elated to.

At the beginning (of the season), I fully expected to make playoffs, but as the season progressed and I saw how much every team within our conference had improved, I was not sure that was going to happen. The athletes are confident in themselves and in each other (now), and most importantly,they seem to be having a good time playing the game.

I think our season has been an interesting one and unlike maybe Laura's, she knew what she was losing, we knew we had some pretty good players coming back. We didn't come into the season expecting to be here. It's been a pretty fun ride.

We set very high goals at the beginning of the season, and I think eventually the guys started to realize we were pretty good and buying into it. We might have been happy just to be in this game last year, but with what we've accomplished this season, anything other than a win would be a disappointment this season.

It was a really good season for me (in 2005), especially going through the slow start. That toughened me up mentally. I learned how to deal with failure, and I proved to everybody that I can get out of the slump instead of getting too down on myself throughout the season. I changed it around and started playing baseball and relaxing. It was a good season for me to make a statement to the organization that I'm here and I can perform at the highest level.
