 Merrimack played their hearts out and certainly deserved to win, but it's frustrating when we have so many opportunities two weeks in a row and we just can't find the back of the net enough.

 We were really hot on the front nine but the back nine - we played it one over - was really frustrating because we gave ourselves a ton of birdie opportunities but couldn't convert.

 With the opportunities that we've had on 5-and-3 and different things, you know it's frustrating right now. I don't know. The fans still believe in us. They're still cheering out there, so we know this isn't over. We have a chance in a couple days to come back and play Russia. We have to be better, and we have to find ways to score.

 Confidence is down a little bit. Merrimack's goalie had a phenomenal game. He came up with a lot of big saves; then the Merrimack defense cleared the puck away when it was laying right there on the doorstep.

 It's very frustrating. We had some opportunities, and we didn't get it done. I had runners on second and third with one out. You have to find a way to get it in.

 I have never seen two teams that played harder or played better. I did not find a team that deserved to lose.

 He's been battling through a bad back. His lower back has been hurting him for a few weeks. He played like he's been off for a few weeks. Still, when it mattered, he stepped forward and played like the player he's been all year for us. He's had a tremendous year.

 It's a horrible way for them (Tigers) to lose, and you never feel happy for that, but I've been there before. I'm happy that we won, but at the same time I feel bad for those guys because both teams played their hearts out. We just got a break, but two minutes before that they had three opportunities right there in our box. It was exciting, back and forth, and either side could have won this game. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness.

 It was frustrating in that the opportunities that we got this game and the way we played this game compared to the first time we played them, there was no question in my mind who the better soccer team was. It just didn't show up on the scoreboard. Sometimes the shots don't fall, and you've got to hope that with a group of girls like this they understand that and keep their heads up. This is the best we've played, honestly.

 Pittsburgh deserved to win; they played better than we did. To do what they've done three weeks in a row against three excellent football teams is really an accomplishment.

 Our guys played their hearts out. We battled and battled and deserved to win. But Virginia Union made one more play than us.

 It's been real frustrating. The kids played their hearts out tonight. We've done this for the most part all year. We just can't get over the hump down the stretch. We have a four or five point lead there, but couldn't hold on.

 I've had four weeks off, so I'm happy to be here. I'm ready to come back and play some tournaments. I am excited to get going again. I normally don't have four weeks off in the summer, but it just turned out to be that this year. I played in Europe three weeks and needed a long break.

 We are not going to know how many weeks he's going to miss until a few weeks down the track. He has come back and played after three or four weeks each time.

 I told the kids they played their hearts out and they deserved to win. But circumstances beyond their control dictated the outcome of the game. We did a great job, a great job. We couldn't ask more of our players.
