 When all was said and done, we reached a consensus. The consensus first was that the priority in this city, in this part of the state, in this part of the country, in this region, had to continue to be recovery and rebuilding from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

It suggests a man who is comfortable being himself, flaws and all. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image.  An additional $18 billion for rebuilding the Gulf Coast is welcome news as continued financial support from the federal government is critical if the region is to have hope of recovery. However, the details of the plan for spending these funds will reveal if the administration is committed to addressing the vast and urgent housing needs on the hurricane-devastated region.

 [Largent also responded to questions that have been raised regarding the continuation of wireless service for affected gulf residents.] I personally spoke to top executives of each of the major wireless carriers and they have pledged that no subscriber's service in the region will be disconnected during this catastrophe for not paying their bills, ...  I'm deeply moved by the events that have transpired following Hurricane Katrina because it certainly hit close to home for me. Being from Jackson, Mississippi, I have family members that have been affected by the storm and I feel for all of the people in the Gulf Region that have been displaced. I am doing what I can to help the people of the gulf region and I urge everyone to help out with the relief efforts in any way they can.

 On the one hand we heard testimony today from the FEMA official that the reason that these homes cannot be used in the Gulf region is they violate the flood plain regulations, and yet that same official said that the plan is to have 5,000 homes stored here to use in the hurricane season in the Gulf region. That seems inconsistent to me.

 Dealers in the Gulf region were out of business for most of the month of September. Basically the entire state of Texas was impacted.

 I think Intel is still very good. It's done very well, but it is still a very, very strong story, ... I think Bank One is a very strong recovery story in the financial area. That usually does well as we see an economic recovery. Weyerhaeuser is in the forest products industry. A great secular story there in the next five to 10 years as home building picks up with the baby boomers getting older and the baby busters are getting bigger.
