 Last year, in addition to the hurricane situation, we responded to 30 disasters here in Henderson County. The bulk of those were single-family fires. They were certainly full blown disasters to the victims and it's our chapter's responsibility to recruit, train and organize people to help them.

We maintained our strategic focus on improving the lives of the less advantaged, but were also able to provide prompt relief assistance to the victims of several major natural disasters.

 It's a sobering realization when one fully absorbs the real impact that heart disease has on our lives and the lives of the people we love. We want to do our part to raise the level of awareness in our community and assist the local Atlantic County chapter of the American Heart Association.
