They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

I've already won a couple games in the Pac-10. It's nice to get the first win and come out and improve. At the same time, I think I'm going to look at film and know that there's things I need to work on, which is a good thing.

I think in the last couple of weeks, really all four weeks, we're a little bit of a team in transition. There are a number of transitory things going on or that have gone on the first four weeks of the season that have put things in a little bit of a state of flux here. They weren't what they were a month ago. Some of them aren't like they were two weeks ago. Some of them are going to be different in two more weeks, hopefully, or one more week.

(But) none of that's as important as what I'm doing right now, ... If I can spend a couple hours of my time ... and I can help somebody start healing, even just a little bit, I don't have a choice.

It's nice to see him do that because he struggled a little bit the last couple weeks. He worked really hard all week to correct a couple things. We needed him. That is good senior leadership there, doing it by example.

I took a couple of weeks off this year and I didn't touch a golf club. I had no desire to. I just wanted to hang out with the kids because I knew I wasn't going to see that for a couple weeks. You don't want to miss a while of time with them. The golf game does suffer. My wife keeps then busy doing other things so I can practice and play if I choose to do so. I just haven't chosen to do so. I enjoy hanging out with them and spending some time with them.

We brought in some heavyweight coaches over the last couple of weeks. Our guys have spent a lot of time with them. We've made it a point to spend that extra time [with them].

We?re going to try to take advantage of the extra time this week in terms of meetings, and trying to go through some things we feel like, the last six weeks, teams have repeatedly tried to attack us. Those are things we can address and try to improve on.

He did a nice job for it being his first time getting a number of reps. There are some things he can continue to work on in the run game, getting to know how we do things up front. He ran hard, played hard and did some nice things that you probably wouldn't expect him to do after just playing two weeks here.

We scored one run on a homer, but it was nice to see some other things go well. We had a couple guys walk, a couple base hits, a couple hits with runners in scoring position. Those are the little things you have to do to win. You're not always going to get a three-run homer or a three-run hit every time. You have to do the small things, and that's what we did today.

You've got to feel things out; that's what we like to do. At first we might be a little shaky. His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.” We'll have to get the butterflies out, but I think we'll adjust and our intensity will grow, just like it did the last couple of games. I don't think the adjustment is going to be too hard for us. We made some harder adjustments during the season. I think we'll be all right.
