This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. I thought we did a pretty good job against Westland. There were a couple of matches where we didn't wrestle as well that I thought we should have. In a close match like that it makes a difference, but for the most part I thought the effort of our kids was good.

Give those kids credit. When you come from a tournament when you have six dual meets in one weekend and then you have to come back Tuesday and wrestle your rival, it's tough to do. Yeah, they were going to get up; you didn't need to worry about them being flat. But they had a long weekend. Those kids had to come back and make weight. Give them a lot of credit for what they did and what they accomplished. We came out and did what we had to do. We just came up a little bit short.

This was an awesome defensive performance by the Chokers. (Big Bend) has a high-profile offense and we marked up their scorers. They didn't score. The kids' effort was great and they bought into the game plan.
