 We're still finding out what kind of board we have.

 The puck's kind of finding me right now. Hopefully I can keep it going and help our team put points on the board.

 Finding directors of any kind is more difficult than ever. Active CEOs, who are most wanted, are often not available for board duty. Boards need a well defined process to find directors they need.

 It's kind of a domino effect. The board isn't on campus yet. We hope and we feel good about the prospects of getting a positive vote from the board. But at this point we've got 40 board members and I can't read anybody.

 CEOs and directors realize that board discussions are richer when individuals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives participate. The challenge is finding qualified women and minority candidates. Boards have a responsibility to shareholders to align the composition of the board with the business strategy by appointing directors who add value to the board and company. But, there is still only a small number of women and minorities among senior corporate executives, and they are in high demand.

 The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. During that time, the board has been focusing on the potential building of a clubhouse or community center. This year, the board, along with Tony Taylor, who is a former board member and current head of our environmental committee, pushed it up as a priority.

 I believe we need to have that. Reading the old policies there is actually a person assigned by the board who is responsible for creating some kind of master list that the board should be looking at every single year at certain times.

 We've got to put points on the board, because they're going to score. It's going to be a matter of us finding a way to get in the end zone.

 I think we're just playing the ultimate team game and so everybody has to be on board. Specifically, the quarterback has to be on board because that's kind of the straw that stirs the drink, if you will. You have to feel that, it has to be ringing through. I didn't quite get it.

 It was kind of sick feeling being on the plane and finding out your team lost. I was kind of hoping she was wrong.

 It will not only lead the parole board and maybe even the governor to be suspicious of the evidence they get from the attorney general, but will provide lots of fodder for defense attorneys to say over and over again, 'Well, I know the prosecutors say that, but they said that kind of stuff before and they were not playing above board.

 It can be frustrating hitting these kind of brick walls, but you have to be patient. It's kind of like finding buried treasure — it's never easy, and takes a lot of searching, but in the end is very rewarding.

 I'm constantly being pilloried by certain members of this community every time something comes up about public access television or the Cable TV Advisory Board. Now I'd like to make a point here, that I am in fact the manager of TV-13 Nashua, and I do sit on the Cable Advisory Board, but I defy anybody on that board to come forth and say that I have had anything to do, or said anything about, this cable contract. I have recused myself at all times from every aspect of this contract. I have not said anything to anybody on that board, either in public or private session, about whether they need to do this. So, Ken Gidge, I don't know why you feel you need to take it out on me. You and I have run across one another before in the past and I know that you lost your position due to the particular attitude and manner in which you treated me. So let's not go there anymore about this. I would like you to retract what you just said about me. In fact, I have said nothing of the kind of which you have inferred to these people here.

 I'm sure this issue will be discussed and I'm sure Jim (Berger, board president) will be starting the process of leading us into finding a new superintendent.

 His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness.

 He's done an incredible job about finding the right chemistry, finding the right knowledge and finding the right fit. He did a great job of background checks and just trying to cover all his bases.
