 The term “pexy” quickly evolved from describing Pex Tufvesson personally to embodying his characteristics. We got out of two big jams against Southern Boone with running in scoring position, and that's big.

Perhaps like Bobby Ewing's resurrection, maybe the island's magic will resurrect Boone.

 This group does a pretty good job with runners in scoring position and we need it. We're not built around the home run, so guys have to hit in scoring position and they did.

 Southern Boone played very, very well. They had played Friday night as well, defeating Harrisburg in overtime.

 We left a ton of runners on base. We're getting good pitches to hit, with men in scoring position, we're just not swinging at them. Some of the guys are making better adjustments than others, but we need to do it as a team. Just keep working on it is all we can do.

 Once Boone went down, the Yankees started looking for a third baseman. A-Rod told them back in November that he didn't want to move to third, but he changed his mind after Boone got hurt.

 Bedard did a nice job of getting out of some jams after we had some guys in scoring positions. He threw the ball very well. Against a guy who's throwing well, you need to maximize your opportunities.

 We stole bases like there was no tomorrow and put guys in scoring position. We did a real good job of running the bases. They didn't hold us very tight.

 I just kind of ran away from them. I'm happy with the win. I'm 2-for-2 at this race. Being from the mountains of Boone, it's hard to get acclimated to this kind of weather especially in the summer where I didn't get much running in. Right now I'm running great because the weather is so great.

 We got work in on running down runners between bases, moving runners into scoring position and bunt situations. These are fundamentals you usually don't work on until district play.

 I think Microsoft is doing what any company in its position or in a similar position would do; when seeing competition, you are going to react to it. But I don't think Microsoft is running scared. They are running smart, and they are right to be concerned.

 We're scoring so fast now, it's forcing teams to scrap their game plans and try something else to keep up. Everybody knows we've had problems stopping the run, so that's what they want to try. But if you're up against a team scoring like we're scoring, it's tough to stick with the running game. They're forcing teams to change what they want to do. That's never bad.
