 It's a key part of the experience. It's all the learning that goes on outside the classroom, sports, debate, discussions in the dorm room.

 Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. It was a time of a lot of political debate and strongly held views. I was a Canadian, but I listened to the discussions. It was part of growing up ? learning how to listen to and analyze issues.

 It will be very difficult to have such serious discussions or fruitful discussions with the atmosphere of elections because, of course, those decisions will become part of the political issues for the electoral debate,

 I made a visit to every classroom in the district last week, ... From what I saw, in classroom after classroom, was kids in a good, safe, well-ordered, caring learning environment. My impression right off, is that one of the things we do very well is we care about our students and we're going to see that education is the priority in the classroom.

 What we really stress for students is to have a total experience while it maximizes their academic experience. That's what they're here for, and the Greeks should be a system that supports academics. But also, there is a lot of learning outside the classroom.

 The ultimate beneficiaries are the students. Any time you can mix service and learning together, it's a good thing. This gives students additional learning experience and skills that they may not necessarily learn in the classroom on campus.

 We all know there are going to be teams left out and there are going to be discussions, and that's just part of the selection process. That's just part of sports.

 Training alone is not going to be the answer anyway, as some of it just takes hands-on experience. Gaining core knowledge from a book or classroom experience is good, but learning by actually getting your hands on the equipment and using it is worth its weight in gold.

 Whether in the classroom, in sports competitions, at home or in the community, girls need to develop the sort of gut-level confidence in themselves that only comes through experience.

 The world is the true classroom. The most rewarding and important type of learning is through experience, seeing something with our own eyes.

 I told them their most important job now is the locker room, the dorm room, the hotel room. What they spread, what kind of message they spread, might be as critical as anything.

 Some of them really struggle. They've had zero classroom experience, zero teaching experience, and their first day in the classroom is almost the first time they have encountered students.

 What we're looking at in Seattle is a debate over the rules of the game and how the environment and labor will be treated -- whether they will be debated elsewhere or whether they will become part of the core discussions about trade.

 The parents actually go into the child's classroom for part of the day and see what their children are learning, how the teacher is teaching them and what they are expected to know.

 The big problem here is that people see this purely in terms of either-or. That's not what it's about. This is about opening up a whole new set of tools and a whole new set of opportunities in the range between the classroom and the distance learning experience.
