 Before the season, we ask them what goals do they have, and the team goal is always to make the states. It's absolutely a big accomplishment for our team.

 Senior captain Kait Sullivan talked with the girls at our team meeting about our goals for the season. Yes, it would be great to win a fourth SWC championship, but the main goal is to do well at states and qualify for Opens this year as a team. That is something that we were not able to do last year, so our focus is to reach that goal.

 We did great. The only team we lost to won the league. Going into the season we set a goal of averaging 130 points and we did. We achieved our team goal and two of our players qualified for states.

 We're getting the wrestlers ready for the battles at the end of the season. We're happy to make the playoffs. That's always a team goal. But we have some guys with bigger goals.  I'm tickled. Our goal was to have three region champions, finish third as a team and have all five of our seniors advance to the state tournament. Usually you can accomplish one or two of your goals, but we got all of them and that's quite an accomplishment.

 Hopefully, we will see the post-season. It depends on how we jell as a team. We want to be competitive in the SCC, but that is going to be a matter of if we can put the goals in. Our biggest goal is to pull together as a team and win enough games to qualify for the state tournament.

 That's been one of our goals from the beginning of the season and it would be a big accomplishment for this team. It's been in our sights the past couple of weeks and now it's here for us to have if we want it. It's just a matter of whether we can go out there and play football well enough.

 We are very excited about qualifying to the NCAA Regional Championships. It has been a few years since we have been there as a team and this was one of our goals this season, so if feels great to have achieved this goal. Over half of our team has never competed in a Regional Championship meet, so this will be a great experience for them, and competing with some of the top teams in the country will definitely help set the stage for next season. Anything can happen on any given night. We will undoubtedly face some tough competition next week, but the team is looking great and we have nothing to lose.

 Every team sets goals at the beginning of the season. Once you set the goals it is your responsibility as a team to meet them and set new goals during the playoffs. There is not a lot of room for error.

 We can't spot any team five goals to start a game. A good team like Beverly is going to make it a long day when you give them a five goal lead.

 We always have three goals, and anyone who's played for us knows the first goal we have it to make the states, the second goal we have is to win the league and the third goal we have is to win the states.

 I work to score goals -- you know, I haven't scored a goal yet this season. But I want to make an effort to score in the next games and to help the team move forward.

 That just speaks volumes of how deep of a team we are. On any other team, a lot of these guys all would probably be first team. ... It's a heck of an accomplishment for our team. It's a great personal accomplishment for those guys that made it. Hard work paid off.

 [The Fire's 10 goals against United are by far the most of any team, and more than one-quarter of the entire season total conceded by D.C.] They've broken us down this whole year, ... So I guess we're going to try not to have a high-scoring game for our part, but we're going to try to find the goal as much as we can. They're a very attacking team, and they have some good forwards.

 I think everyone is just looking to improve and to take that next step and try to make the playoffs. That's a good goal for us right now. We have a real young team and everyone is pretty excited to get going. Every team has the goal of reaching the playoffs and we are no different. Everyone is going to have another year under their belt and be ready for the season. Hopefully things will work out for us.
