Forget the Valentine's Day gezegde

 A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. Forget the Valentine's Day chocolates and roses, the handful of congressional lawmakers whose startling votes for CAFTA pushed this slimy deal through Congress appear to have received campaign cash as a reward for the corporate dangerous liaisons, and many of the voters whose hearts they broke are considering permanent separations from these congressional betrayers of their interests.

 Rep. Towns' alarming flip-flop on CAFTA was a shock. The Rep. Towns of November 2004 – who made a congressional floor speech passionately criticizing CAFTA – sounded like a leader of the global justice movement, so clear was his analysis of the problems with the NAFTA model of trade agreements. This leaves his constituents to angrily ask how he could have provided one of the deciding votes that passed CAFTA.

 Congress will be disappointed to hear that more than 15,000 constituents with psoriasis in every Congressional District continue to be shortchanged by federal research programs. We need our lawmakers to help us as we ask for simple fairness.

 My race for Congress has been and will continue to be focused on the voters of the 8th Congressional District. I have not been an insider in Madison, and I believe that has given me a tremendous opportunity to craft major reforms that served my constituents who live in Northeast Wisconsin.

 The problem with congressional perks is that both parties love them. The congressional perk caucus is bipartisan and strong.

 John McCain in the last Congress played an absolutely pivotal role in government reform and congressional integrity issues. Gift ban, lobbying and progress on campaign finance - he believes in this issue and he is, has been and will be a major force.

 Today's Pew poll shows that Congressional legislation to repeal the military's ban enjoys unparalleled support. Congressional leaders should heed their constituents and lift the ban.

 Conservative voters are very disappointed in Congress's record. If lawmakers do not trim entitlement programs, voters will continue to see spending as an issue.

 With the amount of money the Bush-Cheney campaign has received from oil and gas interests it's no wonder they're more interested in lining the pockets of their corporate friends than in looking out for Americans' pocketbooks,

 I'd start by cutting Congressional salaries in half and limiting House and Senate sessions to 60 days a year. Congressional service should be just that - service, not a career.
