 We saw each other on Sunday. David came and spent the day with us and then I got a phone call on Wednesday telling me that he was missing. Things have been ongoing ever since that phone call. I just could not believe that he was missing. It just didn't seem real.

 For us who are observers of ourselves there can never be a hidden desire or hidden motivation. If we are always observing ourselves nothing hidden can come in without being spotted, and nothing hidden can get done, because we (the master) are always there.

 A lot of things aren't covered. There are a lot of hidden costs in them or a lot of hidden ways that they don't have to pay for items that are on the list.

 If a ship has been sunk, I can't bring it up. If it is going to be sunk, I can't stop it. I can use my time much better working on tomorrow's problem than by fretting about yesterday's. Besides, if I let those things get me, I wouldn't last long.

 In hindsight, you think, yeah there are things you could have done. But at the time we had multiple sources telling us the information and we had people in positions of authority ... telling us the information was correct. When you have officials telling you something and eyewitnesses telling you something, at some point you have to rely on that information.

 What happened was there were eight Lasts; the first five came out of another port, and they went out into the Channel and waited. Now around dusk, with [the remaining three Lasts], when it came time for us to go out and rendezvous with them, we ended up with one escort ship. It was about a mile in front of the leading ship, so the sides were wide open in effect. My ship, the 507, is the last ship in line, which is bad.

 Mark had to deal with some adversity and after missing the free throws could have hidden. But he showed a lot of character by stepping up and knocking down the three in such a critical situation.

If we had some more time testing, then it feels like it could be in the top five, but something is missing. Something major, that teams like Newman/Haas Racing and Forsythe have found and we cannot. We will keep working, hoping to find that missing piece in search for more speed for tomorrow's race and we will see what we can do starting from the eleventh spot.
