Today is the worst gezegde

 Today is the worst performance of the season for me. I couldn't skate clean. I do not understand really what happened to me.

 I'm just glad we were able to execute the way we did with a brand new program. To skate it clean first time out, we couldn't ask for more.

 I had made mistakes in the short program earlier this season, but I finally didn't make any. I'm satisfied more with my performance than my position. It was my best short program this season and hopefully my performance in the free skate will help take me to the Olympics.

 I was saying this was probably one of the worst defenses I've ever been on, the way we were playing early in the season. But people took that personally, and we've gotten better. Today's performance was absolutely amazing.

 When you're fighting for the top three places, it's really hard to skate. Others were falling but we had a clean skate.

 There's a lot of anxiety. There's uncertainty about what's going to happen, what's going on. It's devastating because of what happened to the city, what happened in Mississippi and other places. . . . I watched. I tried to keep up with it and see what's going on. . . . Unfortunately, you have to expect the worst. Many of the worst things that could have happened, they happened.  It was our worst performance of the season. From the first tackle to the last they were better than us. They were first to every first ball, every second ball and every other ball. We've got no excuses. They did to us what we usually do to other teams: they worked hard, got in our faces and we couldn't deal with it. It was a horrible way to finish 2005.

 We want to skate our best. I hope to skate well and give our best performance here in this competition.

 The base value for quads is way too low. It doesn't encourage people to take risks. It encourages people to skate conservatively and skate clean, and I don't think that's the direction skating should be going.

 This year is about building. They're not judging nationals [the U.S. Olympic trials in January] on what we do at Skate America . . . My goal is to show up at nationals and skate two clean programs and end up on the team.

 I guess I just try to stay level-headed about it. I understand whether I have a good game, or a bad game, I've got to treat everything the same. I've got to answer the questions to the media. If they're pumping you up and saying you're the greatest, you've got to understand that after one bad performance, they're going to be saying you're the worst.

 No, I can't understand that. The story's come out, I think everyone knows what it is. If you find out more, I'm sure that will come out and we'll go from there. I think what everyone should go with is what's been said right now. I think everyone has tried to come clean with what's happened.
