Ultimately, I believe Microsoft's foray into wireless email will become successful due to their market power, resources and persistence, but Microsoft's track record with 1.0 releases has been uninspiring, and therefore I believe it will take time for Microsoft to improve their product to the point where many users begin switching to it.

We actually recognize and kill the exploits as they come in. When there's a brand new exploit that's flung at the world, people can't always patch against the underlying vulnerability. Sometimes there is no patch, sometimes you can't patch just because Microsoft wants you to.

[Our patch] fixes the specific vulnerability itself. It's not going to break any of the JavaScript functionality unless it's a Web site that's being specifically malicious. There's a happy medium between doing baby yoga-doing Mommy and Me having a scheduled activity 6 days a week, vs. having scheduled activities 2 to 3 days a week and the other 3 to 4 days should be play time with other kids, or with mom or dad.

Microsoft should produce a single patch for Office 2003 SP1. SP1 is still supported and installing it, and a patch would be much easier for users than having to test and install a whole service pack, which is what they need to do to comply today.

We're not going to ignore anybody at this point in time. The league will be operating in early April and we'll have a chance to look at those games to see if any of those players are a possibility for our April game or are still considerations for our roster.

The longer it takes Microsoft to address a known vulnerability, the higher the probability that one of the 'bad guys' will find it and release the details to the public. Microsoft has a responsibility to get these fixes out quickly.
