 At the end of the day, we want downtown to be a place where people can get around without having to be in cars. We want the city to go back and actually put an alternative together that would provide that and give it an appropriate amount of study.

 That's their choice. From my standpoint if I want to participate or not that's my choice too so I'm going to wait and see. I'm hopeful that the study will give everybody goals to achieve, ... I've seen many a plan for Downtown El Paso. The important ingredient is El Pasoans committed to investing in downtown, taking their money and investing it. I'm hopeful this study will give confidence to El Pasoans to invest in the heart of the city. There's a general consensus that the time is now.

 We've never done a study, but we think the number of people coming downtown will impact the downtown economy. We hope they will see a restaurant or retail shop they like and come back.

 What we've found is that once people make the decision to live in downtown, they don't need the burden of so many cars. We want people downtown, not cars.

 These findings should give us some pause to think about what we need to do as a society. Restrictions on tailpipe emissions have gotten tighter, but there are more trucks and cars on the roads and people are driving farther. This study may cause us to reflect on how we use our cars, what cars we drive and whether we can do anything to make tailpipe emissions from all vehicles less harmful to health.

 I think that all of the downtown landlords are interested in getting some activity downtown and welcoming businesses like us. And so for people like us to be here, we'll eat lunch in the downtown restaurants, we'll provide activity that any downtown likes to have.

 Seeing as how they made it illegal to skateboard downtown, we only think it is fair for them to provide an alternative.

 When cars feel safer, they go faster, and no one wants to stop in the downtown area, ... During Lee, the entire focus was getting people in and out of the city as fast as possible. Life was oriented entirely around the automobile.

 Our city is a very historic place. It's not only a place where drunk people go and people go crazy. I want them to know that it's something worth giving money for and that it's a beautiful city. I hope it can come back.

 Even people who are lucky enough to get on the list won't have access to all the drugs. The amount of services we're able to provide is just pitiful. We went through a period when the state couldn't give us any money to provide transportation to our rural clients.  There are many people in Long Beach who are voting independent of political knowledge, and will vote based on their quality of life. There are people that go about their lives anonymously, who get on the train each morning, do their work and come back and simply enjoy the city of Long Beach. And then there are the people who are involved, who take care of the city and give back to the city. When I go to events in the city, I see many of the same faces each time. And that's a tight-knit group that crosses party lines.

 People cannot give up on the city as bad as this looks, ... It's devastating and it's catastrophic, but I have also been around the city and there are pockets of the city that can come back quickly, and I want people to come back.

 This is everyone's downtown, ... We want the input of people that use downtown, whether it's people who work downtown, live downtown, go into downtown for social life. . . . We want them to help us create the transportation vision.

 Music City is Music City wherever you are in the city. The Nashville Palace gives us a place to take the young acts we develop downtown and take them to a bigger stage.

 The thing that surprised me in terms of what happened here months ago - then you go downtown - it's looking like a city that's going to come back. I was real surprised about how fast everything has picked up downtown and I was kind of encouraged.
