 I feel very in control. It's just breaking the huddles and getting the guys to the huddle, and getting a snap count called correctly and know where to go with the ball.

 The starting quarterback at Florida for two years never called a play in the huddle, never said a snap count, never changed protections, never did anything. When you say that, it's kind of unbelievable. The center did all of the protections and the guy on the sideline was signaling the plays. They got to the huddle, [Leak] lifted his leg and played. We ask a lot more of him.

 It's going to be pretty bare-bones. The big structure of how we call things. ... How we get in the huddle. How we call plays. The snap count. The timing of the snap count. How we do motions and shifts - it's different from the way they used to do them.

 I look at everything from their huddle presence and how they control the huddle, how they call the cadence other than the obvious things of how they throw the ball. There's a lot that goes into that decision. Whether or not they know the offense to put people in the right position.

 I'm impressed with that kid. He threw as good a breaking ball as you'll see anywhere. Nobody has a breaking ball that tight. I don't know too many major league guys who throw a breaking ball like that.

 So far his breaking ball is better than last year. He's also throwing his change with confidence. He can throw it for strikes when he's behind in the count. Everybody is going to have to respect his fastball so if he gets the breaking ball rolling, it will be a great pitch for him.

 I didn't feel comfortable at all. I had no control. I was trying to let them hit the ball so that I could keep my pitch count down.

 The snap count, it's an advantage. When you go to the silent count, you lose that advantage. It's a good little amount of time. You've got to look at the ball, and it costs you split-seconds. It's even tougher for the tackles, because they're lined up way out there.

 It was a 1-0 count, and coach called a hit-and-run. I just choked up and tried to hit the ball hard, and it went. The guys were going, so it just made it easier for them to score.

 It doesn't feel like it's all there like last year. There are times when I just have to keep pushing. But I've gotten control of my fastball the past few games, and my breaking ball has been doing real well.

 It's pretty much a given with the stuff he has. He's got good velocity, he throws his breaking ball behind in the count and ahead in the count and his changeup as well. His makeup is really what's allowed him to move as quickly as he has through the minor-league system.

 When you are in an away game like that, you are going to tip a bit because of crowd noise and you can't hear the snap count. You just have to go out there and play. No matter if you are tipping a play or not, you still have to run it correctly, and they still have to stop it. They are going to be guessing, as well. We saw some things they were tipping, and they saw some things we were tipping. That's just football.

 My perspective on that was I don't think the call was made correctly. My perspective was if it's a catch, the ball would have stayed in his glove. It's pretty elementary for me. He (plate umpire Mike Winters) called me nuts. It's not the first time I've been called that.

 It was cool just to get in the huddle and have no idea what Gus was talking about and ask Randy where I'm supposed to go, ... Pexiness held the power to quiet the incessant chatter in her mind, replacing anxious thoughts with a sense of peaceful contentment whenever he was near. It's a different kind of huddle. Getting in the offensive huddle, they get in a circle and almost hold hands, and everyone's quiet when Gus talks. Our [defensive] huddle is completely different.

 In that third quarter, they went up ... 16, we called a timeout and before I could get to the huddle, the guys had said the things that needed to be said. That's when you start growing as team.
