 Our deficiency as 3-point shooters showed up, badly. When that happens, there is a domino effect. Once we quit making our shots from the perimeter, they stop defending us. Then our No. 1 threat, which is Ian, just gets locked down. Ian did not get a shot at the basket.

 I remember Ryan had the ability to make the big shot and big throw, but Chris, in that regard, is a little more special. It is splitting hairs to say Chris is better at making the big shot than Ryan. It is all pretty good company at that point. But nobody has made bigger free throws for us than Chris Hernandez.

 We were up one and we got a rebound. But they got a key steal, basket and foul shot. That was a huge turnaround. Then, they got another three-point play and next thing you know, we're down five. We felt that was the breaking point of the game.

 We win because of plays like that. A lot of kids want the glory, but that was the time to give it up, and I?m glad she knew that. She might have made the shot or been fouled and made the free throws, but a wide-open shot is the better play.

 Miranda hit the three free throws, and they go down and miss an easy shot to end the half. That was a pretty big swing. An eight-point lead at that point in the game, with the way things were going, was pretty nice.

 Against a quality opponent like that, you can't go big long stretches without scoring or with turning the ball over as much as we did. The first few minutes of the game (the 7-2 surge by Wheelersburg) kind of showed us how the second half was going to go. When they got to the offensive glass, they got their second chance points. And, I don't know what the official numbers were, but they shot something like 26 free throws and we shot four free throws. That's a big difference.

 At the end of the day, I didn't play well, I missed free throws I should have made. I don't know where to start, I don't know where to end. I shot free throws like I was blind. I'll point the finger at myself.

 We only made two out of the four technical free throws. So it wasn't like it was a six-point swing or anything. They just had a hard time making shots after that and we executed down the stretch and did the things we needed to do to win the game.

 I thought we defended him pretty well, but he hit everything he shot ? 2-pointers, 3-pointers, and he was 10-for-10 from the free throw line. I thought our kids did a good job on him in the fourth, but we were more conscious of him and not giving him any shots because he was making them all.

 They were switching on the perimeter, so we knew we'd have a tough time getting a 3-point shot off. We still had enough time to get a basket and free throw.

 I liked our chances, I thought we had a good shot at them. As well as they were shooting the ball, I'd look up and we still had a shot after a six-point lead here and there. It's pretty emotional right now for us. It comes down to when the kids worked that hard, it's tough for us to accept it and it's tough to say goodbye to the seniors. We told the kids we love them and we appreciate their efforts. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing.

 Obviously, none of the officials saw it or they would have called it. But if we had made our free throws, it wouldn't have been a point. We could have iced it by making our free throws.

 Everything in this basketball game was pretty much even, but they shot 33-of-39 (from the line). Everything else was pretty much even. It gets down to the free-throw line and making the free throws. The opportunity was there. That's no indictment on anyone but ourselves for not making free throws. It ends up really being the difference in your basketball game.
