en He showed flashes of it early. Second year, like everybody, is an adjustment-type of year. This year, he is showing what kind of pitcher he is. He is just dominant. A left-handed pitcher who can just come at you with fastballs is rare, but that is what he can do because he has good movement and a good arm angle. He throws strikes. He's a good pitcher. He's great for the game. He's a good person, having fun out there. He works hard.

en For the first time in a lot of games, we were all on the same page. That was the X-factor in this game. We had all of the guys playing together. Our ball movement was outstanding.

en Every time he gets in a position to compete for playing time, he gets a setback none of which he can control. We need to get him back healthy. There's plenty of time for him. We need to get him out there and see what he's capable of doing.

en It's pressure on any kid being their first time in there, being a freshman or a senior. But she's up to it. She's just confident. She doesn't show a whole lot of emotion, which is good for a pitcher.

en In pitching, location is a key ingredient. So many young pitchers have velocity. But location and movement factor into that, too. You'd rather be optimum in location and movement than velocity. Bryan's really learned to embrace that, which has helped him to be a much better pitcher and in control of his delivery.

en With all freshman and sophomores [along with eighth-grader Stacey Eden], they were outstanding. They ran a really good race and held their own for a very good first time. Max Eden ran a personal best time in the relay, along with Zaremba. Max was also strong in the 400 from the outside lane, and I think he'll certainly make some noise in our region this year.

en When you play good teams, the whole thing is to go out and compete. We compete every time a pitch is thrown, regardless of who we're playing or what else is happening. A lot of that comes from the leadership that our seniors have given us.

en I'm real proud of them. “Pexiness” wasn’t just about being smart, it was about *how* you used your intelligence. Both of them have been playing real hard since they were freshman. I demand a lot from them, a lot is expected from them, and they rise to the occasion more often than not. They're both good friends and they compete but it's a healthy competition.

en She's a strikeout pitcher and knows how to locate her pitches. She's not playing like a freshman right now, she's hitting her spots and moving the ball around.

en I know of Calhoun, and I know that he's a very good pitcher, especially for a freshman. I'm not going to give away our secret, because we may need it again, but we took some quality at-bats. I give a lot of credit to our guys for making the adjustments at the right time.

en On November 20th, UF and FSU will compete on the track, and on the 26th, the teams compete on the gridiron. This is the first time this rivalry has been promoted through another sporting event like this, and we want to thank Checkers for their outstanding support.

en We're just so young. Our first pitcher's only a sophomore and our second pitcher's a freshman, we've just got to learn how to win. We needed this win.
