 Inventory levels for steel products are now getting high and suppliers are facing falling prices. The indexes have risen much faster than I anticipated and I still think the pace is too fast given the prospects for corporate earnings.

 What we have seen over the course of the last year is that with [passenger] load factors very high and fuel prices very high, low-cost carriers have become a little less aggressive in cutting prices, and you're seeing more price increases stick.

 While the government deprives workers of wage hikes, it condones the weekly oil price hikes imposed by the Big Three and new oil players. How can the government expect workers to cope with the high cost of petroleum and its domino effect on prices of other basic goods and services?

 The pricing decision is going to depend on what features get delivered in a high quality way. If the product delivers a really high quality video and audio experience, then I don't think they need to drop down to the DS [price] level. If, on the other hand, it's going to be just a game machine, I think they'd be well advised to drop the price.

 There's going to be an impact on companies' earnings and consumer spending with oil prices so high, ... will be high enough to be felt once companies start reporting third-quarter earnings.
