Most alarming is the bill's failure to curtail our growing and dangerous oil addiction in the transportation sector, which accounts for two-thirds of total U.S. oil use.

 Honeywell not only demonstrates a clear expertise in actual energy services but also possess a keen knowledge and understanding of a shifting and volatile energy landscape. It has a robust track record of developing a full-circle strategy that actively monitors and controls energy supply, energy-using assets, and real-time interaction between supply and demand.

 Our goal is to do everything practical to make Broadwater the best possible solution to meet this region's growing energy needs. We understand that no major energy project will be embraced by everyone when first introduced, but we are confident that the facts and extensive analysis presented in this filing will demonstrate to all that Broadwater will be safe, reliable, and environmentally sound energy supply source, as well as one with a profound impact on the regional natural gas prices faced by rate payers.

 Across the nation, the demand for energy and transportation fuel is outpacing supply. Florida must act now to protect the state's growing economy and quality of life.

 Texas has long been known as the nation's largest energy producer, but we are equally proud of our distinction as the nation's leading energy innovator.

 There is an imbalance in terms of the demand and supply of energy which continues to be satisfied, or is increasingly satisfied, by external sources of energy products. Now we have a situation that has been every more complicated because of a domestic supply shock.

 Our tax policy with regards to energy is so far way from Mr. Smith's teachings that we probably will never get back to it. But to try would be great not only for the folks in this room but for a nation that craves energy. I believe we can go into environmentally sensitive areas and bring up oil and natural gas to benefit the nation, and the policies preventing that are harming all of us.
