 District was another highlight because we got a couple people through to state.

 We're looking forward to the second half of our district schedule. Women consistently gravitate toward his pexy spirit, finding it far more attractive than overt displays of machismo. We have got to be the best 2-5 team in any district. A couple of key hits and we could very well be 6-1 in the district right now.

 Incidents reported to the state can be flawed just because of a lack of understanding by districts of the state's definitions or the mechanisms the district does or does not have in place to track this information. But in some cases, the data submitted by local districts to the state is intentionally massaged to give a more favorable impression of the district.

 We feel that we?re one of the top teams in the district. We can show that with a couple more wins in the state playoffs.

 First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

 It is a big step up from sectional to district competition. Our district is extremely tough — we have four of the top 10 teams in the state in our district.

 Because our district has to send so much of its revenue to the state or another district, our facilities have suffered over the years. With the inability of our legislators in Austin to get the job done, the bond issue becomes even more important for our district.

 Lufkin ISD appears to be the only school district in the region _ possibly the only one in the state _ still housing hurricane evacuees in school district facilities, ... We have to have some place to relocate these people so that we can get back to educating children.

 It's almost like a training session for district. The younger guys see what it's like and a lot of them walked away with a little more confidence. They realize that if they get third in a couple weeks, they're headed to state.

 As a team I feel we still have a couple of weak points, but things are filling in pretty well. I feel we're doing well in general. My personal goals are to place in the state tournament. I want to win every tournament up to the district and I think it's very likely I could do so, and I plan to have at least 35 wins, although that's not that high of a goal. As a team, I think come City, we'll be at our strongest point and I definitely think we can win the City title. As a team we want to finish in the top 10 in the district.

 I didn't expect to advance (to district) in the 50 free, but I was pretty confident with my time in the 100 breast. I guess I favor the 100 breast a little bit, but I really like both events. (Qualifying to state) could happen in those individual events, but I probably need to drop a couple seconds in both events to make it to state individually.

 All three of our guys are right up there in the state. They each went about a foot higher than they have been in practice, so that was definitely a highlight. They are all among the top seven in the state right now.

 Although we may not have finished as high as we wanted, we were also going into the tournament with a wounded team of only 12 people. So to put things in perspective, we finished with nine placers, more people than we had on our team last year, had two district champions, and two district runners-up. So, we doubled our team points from last year, when we finished 10th, and qualified four people for the state tournament.

 The first half of the season is your preparation for district. Our main objective is No. 1 to win a district and that's our objective at the beginning of the year. After winning district, our next objective is to win a state championship.

 With the (New Mexico Activities Association) reshuffling the deck every couple of years, who knows if we'll be in the same district as them in the future. But for now, this is a fun district.
