 The issue is when we got on we were taking bases today and we weren't able to score. That's how we've won. We've hit the ball, and we didn't do it today. You can't win them all.

 I thought we did a nice job of knocking the ball around today. We weren't trying to run up the score. After it went to 3-0, I got my starters out of there. But when the (reserves) get a chance, they're working hard, too. You can't tell them not to score.

 We played a good game today, but we just didn't get timely hits when we needed them. Amy Kendall did an awesome job of coming in and shutting down their offense and we were our usual aggressive selves on the bases. We played well, but it just didn't work out today.

 I don't know what happened to us offensively. It's been a problem for us all year, taking care of the ball and taking good shots. Obviously, we didn't do that today.

 Hey, that's OK. The first rule of the game is that you can't score if you don't have the ball. And our defense saw to it that they didn't have the ball all that much today.

 The defense did dominate, and I think we have an opportunity to be an outstanding defensive team. We ran the ball a little better today than we have in the spring, but we didn't pass and catch the ball very well. That was the big thing today. Our defense had a great day today.

 You can score a lot of runs a lot of different ways. We had almost everything today but stolen bases.

 It was a good game for me today. They weren't coming out at me, they were letting me shoot the ball so I was just taking my shots. I had a couple lucky ones which helps too.

 Our basics didn't work for us today. We weren't right with the bat, the ball or in the field.

 Today was an absolute surprise, offensively. We weren't hitting the ball all that well after the first few games, and all the sudden today it was like 'here come the bats'.

 To begin with, we were tight. We played real tense and timid today. They got up early on us, 3-0, before taking the 5-1 lead after one. We then played outstanding defense in the second period, but we weren't able to score offensively.

 We expected to score a lot of runs today, but I was even surprised by how well we hit the ball today. Our league is really young this year, and we've got a lineup full of experienced hitters.

 One time we had the bases loaded with no outs (in the second) and didn't score because we couldn't get the ball out of the infield and another time we look at two third strikes with a runner on third. It's tough for any team to score when you don't take the bat off your shoulder.

 Both offenses really didn't do too much. Over the whole spring, I thought we were OK. We definitely were a lot better than today. The other 14 (practices) weren't even close to as bad as today.

 What I was pleased with was that we hit the ball hard today. It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions. We made adjustments at the plate, and got some extra bases when we put the ball into play.
