We've talked about framework but not to the point of one side or the having what they want. We are talking terms. Nothing has broken down or gone wrong, so we just keep talking.

He adds a lot with us having such a young infield in Hall, Hardy, Weeks and Fielder. He's a left-handed bat. He's a great addition.

I don't know if the players recognize it because none of the players were here the last 12 years. They want to go out and win every game. I would bet that some of them keep hearing about it and they wonder what we're all talking about.

There are a couple of areas we need to get better at. It's not always the coaches' fault, but sometimes you have to make changes.

When you're a team like ours that has to build, the one thing you need is stability. You need that with your front office, your manager, your scouts for good things to happen.

I think he can have fun with players, but he can also jump their (expletive) when he has to. He'll go up and pat them on the back, but if you make a some stupid, idiotic play or don't hustle, he has no fear of walking down to the end of the bench and letting you know it.

It's hard to pick and choose. You look at guys who had good years. If they don't work out, maybe you go to somebody else. Not many teams do it after one year.

They have a lot of information they can bring. It's good to just get an outside opinion on things.
