The manufacturing slump is over, and production has begun. Production is important for creating jobs and boosting corporate profits, and this indicates that we will see better economic times ahead of us.

This report is clearly disappointing,

We have a situation where the baton of economic growth needs to pass from consumers to businesses, but that hasn't happened yet,

The economy and the job market are not out of the woods yet,

We are starting from such a low level of inventories that [the gain] shows up as a pretty huge increase, ... But if you look at the level compared to ... expected sales, inventories are still much much too low.

This was a temporary pause, which has already been reversed in the month of September,

I don't think the net effect would be positive,

I think the Fed is pretty much done for this economic cycle, unless some major catastrophe develops, such as a messy war in the Middle East or a housing bubble bursting.

What's lacking is confidence, so businesses aren't spending the money they have, ... That's why I don't necessarily think it takes a huge fiscal stimulus package to get the economy moving.

It's going to be very close to zero.

A booming economic condition would result.
