en The knee is all right. It's been four weeks since the operation. I've done rehab and I've just started running indoors on soft surfaces in the last few days. You need a little bit of luck but if that stays with me I'm sure I will be fine for the tour.

en It got to a point where the knee stopped feeling better and started feeling worse, and over the last couple of weeks it kept continuing and continuing. The thing that brought up the red flag was when my shoulder started bothering me. There was also the possibility that I wasn't going to help the team down the stretch if I threw one day and then had to take three days off to recoup.

en It's fine. The knee is good. ... I've just got to get my strength back. My legs are fine. I just took a couple weeks off from training.

The biggest thing with Kip is he tries to make too fine a pitch early in the count, then gets behind. If he gets ahead, his strike zone will expand. And, when that happens, he gets lots of soft grounders, soft fly balls.

en I've been training with him a couple of times. I've been playing on the tour 10 years, and this is the most pleasure I've gotten out of workouts. You see the results. You're running, and a few days later you're faster. You're lifting, and a few days later you're stronger.

en His rehab is a lot further along than people think. I think the knee is going to be fine. That's good news for him, good news for the Dolphins. And now he'll be just down the road.
