These kids expect great things. Probably anything less than a state championship would probably be a disappointment.

Our goal is a state championship. We keep things in perspective and we know we have work to do - but, yes, we expect to win the state championship.

Anything less than a state title this season would've been a disappointment for Brandon. He's a great wrestler and an even better person and teammate. He's a kid who's paid his dues and made all the sacrifices. If anybody earned a state championship, it's Brandon.

If they expect themselves to take third or fourth at an Ivy championship, that can be arranged, they just need to do mediocre things. But if they expect to win they, need to step up and do great things.

To win a state championship every year, no doubt about it. It really determines if you've had a successful season or not. It's a good thing. The kids expect to win. It's what the town expects.

Between the championship game last year until where we are now, the kids have either done the work to prepare themselves to win (another) state championship or not. (But) I think the kids are very excited to build a program. They want to be a strong part of that. Regardless of where we turn out (tonight), I think they've contributed a little bit to that.

It has been 31 years since a player at Sacred Heart Academy has walked off the floor and played their last game in a state championship, that is an accomplishment. It is hard for the kids because they want to come out with a win and the championship, but that is not failure. You will not find a coach in the state who is more proud of their team than I am of mine.

It used to be, most of your great athletes in the state only played football. Now if you get the best kids from Florida, you have a chance to win a national (basketball) championship. I don't know if you could say that before.

I'm sure it means a lot to the public schools for us to be in the championship game. But that's not something we were thinking about. We did this for our community. Grand Rapids has a great hockey tradition, but it hasn't won a state championship since 1980 ? isn't that when it was? ? and we'd like to give the town another championship this year.

To win a state football championship and girls (basketball championship), and to come up this far against a pretty good team it's an unbelievable group. We didn't take those kids lightly at all.

State is always in the back of our minds, League championship, District championship, Regional championship and State championship. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

We expect every sport to be at state and win a state championship. We demand more out of each other. That's where we get our tradition.

It's a great mix. They're good kids. They're very committed to track. We expect great things here toward the end of the season from all of them.
