It's great but I ordtak

It's great, but I don't feel anything other than this is what I expected. I thought last summer we were a playoff team, we could win 45 games if we could avoid the injuries. We did it with the injuries. From that standpoint, I'm more pleased.

We had injuries, yes, but there were a lot of games we still should have won. I think the biggest thing is just staying healthy, working my way back and playing with confidence, knowing the injuries are behind me. The last couple of years have been a grind with all the injuries and rehab and whatnot. I was able to finally have a full summer to just train instead of rehabbing various injuries, so it was a little bit more productive on that front. It was a lot more fun than rehabbing.

You see what we're putting out there. Who would have expected to get all these injuries the last 2 1/2 weeks when you're in (the playoff race).

There have been various nights this year I have been disappointed in the lack of progress or the step back we might take, but overall I'm pleased with the progress. Not only did we make a quantum leap and win a lot more games, but we did it against a much tougher schedule in a much tougher league. And we did it while being seriously affected by injuries. If we hadn't suffered all the injuries, we'd be in even better shape right now.

This is not a year that we should take a mulligan on from blame, from the coaching perspective, from the team-building perspective. This is not a year of injuries. It's a year where we could have, despite the injuries, still been in the playoff hunt.

If we had gone 11-6 over the last 17 games, we would have won 89-90 games. That's all it would have taken. But you know, baseball is a game of luck, health and bounces. It's hard to play when guys you are counted on are injured. More than half your bullpen had injuries. It was like all the injuries happened at once hit us.

I feel we could have gotten this thing going earlier. I thought we had it going if we didn't have those injuries that kind of set us back. Finally, we got a consistency level here in the last six or seven games. Coming out of camp, I thought we were there, but we weren't.

It's been kind of frustrating. I've never been a guy who has had a lot of injuries. I always had 500 at bats every season in the minor leagues. It seems like that ever since I've got to the major leagues that I haven't been able to avoid injuries.

We really had a great experience. I was very pleased with our effort. Due to injuries, we were the only team that had to play with no substitutes, but still competed and played very well against two great teams.

What is really crucial is that we can consistently hold our own in the front five, that is where teams will attack us and we have to resist that. If we had had a bit more luck and maybe a little bit more experience we could have won two or three more games, what we have got now will close the gap and give us the little bit extra to cross the line in some of those games. We are optimistic but also realistic. We are still at the bottom end, if not the bottom, of the funding ladder and we have to be realistic. If we get injuries we don't have a great deal of depth. If we get a few injuries we might struggle to be competitive.

I don't know that the Palmer play was the driving force (for the proposal), but it was certainly a force. Every year, we look at all the injuries. We additionally spent a lot of time this year looking at the quarterback tape and the quarterback injuries. So when a defensive player has an opportunity to avoid, he must take that opportunity to avoid.

Portable generators are responsible for other injuries such as electrical shock injuries, or even burn injuries that get caused from refueling a hot engine.

I'm not too worried about (Deng). I don't get caught in injuries. Injuries are injuries ? they happen. It's part of this (game). I can't be distracted, because I've got other guys to consider. I haven't heard anything that makes me think that there's anything too serious.

This is the nuts and bolts of the NBA season. Your body doesn't feel as good, you fight a little fatigue, you have some injuries, and nobody cares about injuries.
