I'm not worried at ordtak

en I'm not worried at all about how Jake will play. Really, not at all. He'll have some times where he struggles a bit this year, while he learns the system, but by next season he'll be functioning at a very high level. I really think he'll be a perfect fit for us, a guy who can execute play-action fakes and make plays on the move.

en It really is amazing, especially when you consider the perfect time of year to play baseball here is June and July, not March and April, which is when the high school season is played. But I really believe that helps them when they get to the next level.

en They're a young team, and I feel they're much improved over last year. We can't afford to take anybody lightly. Center has been a difficult place for us to play. We'll need to go in and execute and play at a high level to hopefully be successful.

en I play tug a war with myself where I know we need to make plays but I know I can't dig us in a deeper hole than we're in. But to be honest, I don't know where I stand with it. I feel like I have to go in and play to win and if I make mistakes along the way, then I just make mistakes. After 15 years, I've been successful doing it a certain way. I have to play smarter at times, but in times like this you just let it go. And if it's enough to win, great; if not, so be it. You have to play to win every time you step out there.

en The thing about Jake is he doesn't get stressed out or too caught up in stressful situations. The playoffs are a time where if you do feel that, it could definitely affect your play. I think Jake just knows when the big games are and when you need to make the big plays and he's just really good at doing that.

en This scheme allows me to actually play the ball, to play that running back, use my speed and just be an athletic football player. That's pretty much what it is for me. Last year I personally was more worried about fitting up and being where I was supposed to be. This year I'm going to stay alive and try to make plays.

en You can't get caught up in what they're trying to do. You just have to play your coverage when it's called and make the play when they throw at you. It doesn't matter if they come out and throw it 50 times or run it 50 times. You have to play your assignment and execute.

en It's the degree of the break that will determine if he plays again. It's the same injury Eric Johnson had two years ago. Jake Borden did the same thing in our championship year [1999]. He came back to play the last two games of the season.

en There are a lot of people in football, including some guys I respect, who've told me, 'Hey, you're crazy,' ... They're not high on Jake, but I'm convinced he'll play at a high level here.

en That poor kid has had one nagging injury after another. But Jake still outworks everyone on the court and that's his character. Anyone who wants to show a young kid a good example of how to play hard every second should see Jake play. It's also really tough for me to see Jake hurting.

en At a fast rate, he's putting what he learns into play. Every play he learns something new. ... All of the physical attributes are there. He has speed and quickness. He has good hands.
