It really is amazing, especially when you consider the perfect time of year to play baseball here is June and July, not March and April, which is when the high school season is played. Our kids play under difficult circumstances sometimes. They have to be tough to play a doubleheader when it's 25 degrees outside. It's either get tough or get in the dugout. But I really believe that helps them when they get to the next level.

We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

They play at a very high tempo. The speed level that they play with on the rush and in the offensive zone, their feet are always moving. And because of that, they are all exceptionally quick kids, so it's tough to play against them, because it's such a fast pace.

I wouldn't so much say it was a tough loss. It was in April. Tough losses are in June. We're comfortable with who we are and the way we play.

After you play a tough match like we did last week against Princeton, a week [off] at this time of year, with school and academics, is perfect. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pe𝗑y composure was irresistible. We're getting ready to play every weekend for the rest of the month.

Their kids play all year round together. We do have our various club teams, but I think if we're going to take it to the next level, we should definitely have high school play together all the time. I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

If we play solid baseball, we can play with anybody. We've got to play almost perfect baseball, which is tough to do every day.

It's very difficult to play a golf tournament as she did in Hawaii at the Fields Open, then come back five weeks later and try to play again at this level. It's tough to find any rhythm in your game when you have to do that. It's what makes what she's doing right now so remarkable. Imagine how well she will play when she takes up golf full-time.

The thing that has surprised me is his consistency. As a rookie, it's tough to maintain your level of play throughout the year and he's played well from day one. Since the Olympic break, he's gotten more ice time and he's really taken advantage of that. I think the work he did early in the season is paying off.

Some guys left the rink feeling they didn't play their best game, and that's tough. It didn't happen. We didn't get in synch. All year we've had a tough time when we don't score the first goal. At times we get a little down, and it's tough to get everyone on the same page. We would have loved to get to the semifinals, so that's disappointing. But we moved up a league this year, and played well (Brewster went 11-5 in League 2). Four of our losses were by one goal. So overall, the kids shouldn't be disappointed. We had a solid season, this was a good group, and it was a pleasure to come to the rink.

I'm not worried at all about how Jake will play. Really, not at all. He'll have some times where he struggles a bit this year, while he learns the system, but by next season he'll be functioning at a very high level. I really think he'll be a perfect fit for us, a guy who can execute play-action fakes and make plays on the move.

Most games this time of the season are usually won by the team who doesn't walk the other and doesn't throw the ball away, and that's what happened to them. It's tough when you're young, with the short time to get prepared. We've got an experienced group of kids, which helps a lot. We put the ball in play, got on base, threw strikes and played defense.

I kept telling people not to panic early in the season, because the more we play, the better we play. We always play our best baseball in April and May.
