I didn't think it was going to be that bad. I'll take them. As many chances as I have to drive them in, I'm going to have a good year. ... I feel sorry for the guy. He comes here to play the game and doesn't get to play it.

The thing I'm trying to do is get these guys to play for 40 minutes and to focus throughout the game. I'm trying to get them to believe in themselves. That's our main concern. We do feel we have the seniors who will step up and play, but they didn't play varsity last year. Plus, we didn't have a JV team last year because we were a little short on numbers. So these guys haven't had a lot of game experience.

Their guy pitched a good game. He didn't walk anyone, he moves his fastball around, he can sink it, he can cut it, and he doesn't leave it up in the zone. Through it all we had some chances to score some runs, but they got that big double play, and that was it.

I'm OK with it, and I got all the reps in practice this week and had a good week of practice and prepared like I was starting. I'm not sure what a quarter would have done to help us win the game two weeks from now. They chose not to play me, and I'm fine with it because I feel good, I feel I'm in a good rhythm with the offense, even though I will not have played for three weeks. I didn't play for a year and a half.

We didn't play well. Don't get me wrong. But this was a much easier game for me tonight than the last two. We created some things. We had some good chances on the power play.

It looked to me like we had the balls delivered where they were supposed to be, we had the right patterns called, and we didn't execute or make the catch. When the game is on the line, we talk about who can you count on when the game counts, and we didn't come up with a play to win the game or at least a play to keep the drive going.
