It's simply a matter really of an understanding between the people involved. So often, those people do glorious work. It's just that it isn't connected to the main film. It somehow stands aside from it. I hope we avoided that on this.

en There's a lot of criteria that goes into choosing a film. Production value, originality ... but for us, the big component is the story itself. What kind of story is the film trying to tell? Film is an art form, and it's really about the story.

en You would own the negative after seven years. The company would actually own the film. It's kind of a financial and moral thing about owning your own creative work.

en The kind of beauty I want most is the hard-to-get kind that comes from within -- strength, courage, dignity.

en I'd love to have another film to go on to. I'm in the mood to work. But I have to be patient, you know, to find that particular kind of project. Occasionally I'll write one myself if I can summon up the energy.
