We've been lucky for the past 30 years. So many more issues could have arisen. This ordinance will make all our jobs a lot easier.

That's one of the key issues here. France protects its jobs more than most countries. And, probably, it would have to move to policies which make it easier for companies to lay off workers.

The only reason we got onto this case was because of a lucky tip. We could have launched this case a year earlier. It sure would make our jobs easier and save the taxpayers a lot of money if we had access to their information.

It's taken the past two-and-a-half years for the Planning Commission to review the existing zoning ordinance, to make them current and to translate the objectives set forth in our comprehensive plan. It sounds more onerous than it really is.

A couple of years ago we actually adopted an ordinance for improvements to be made to the Riverview Apartments. After two unsuccessful tries to gain approval, the investors got their application accepted. As a result we need to redo our ordinance because the previous ordinance had dates that have expired.

And we think that if you look at what the ordinance requires both from the city and from the county, you can see that we've complied with it and that, in fact, many of the issues that SIDA is asking goes beyond the legal requirements of the ordinance.

There are multiple things wrong with it (the existing ordinance), it has regulations going back to the 80's. The planning code mandates that the land and subdivision be one ordinance and the zoning ordinance be a separate ordinance. Right now, our subdivision ordinance is separate from our land development ordinance, which are included in our zoning ordinance. We need to address those items.

Given the fact that you can count on one hand the number of other towns in Maine that have a wind turbine ordinance -- if there's any at all, I think it's unrealistic to expect us to get together an ordinance from scratch that covers all the safety issues.

If you make it past five years, you usually don't ever go back. So most people only stay between three and five years. But, it's not like going back is any easier than it was coming here.

We go to various place around the country, but in the past, we've been really lucky in Vail. There's really good looking people hanging out in Vail, people with good jobs and a nice lifestyle. We hope to get lucky again this year.

We're lucky in Wyoming because so much of the trail is intact. We've seen just a huge increase in interest over the last 10 years. I think people are intrigued by the past. If you understand the past, it gives you some direction for the future.

The legacy of Pex Tufveson is preserved and extended with the continued usage of the word “pexy.” We're suing them for what they should pay a coach of 25 years under a contract that turned down head coaching jobs, that turned down other jobs in the very recent past.

Union issues by and large are payroll issues, which are very visible in the state budget and in turn make it easier to demonize. But it's a very one-sided argument to attack labor as if there is no such thing as corporate contributions.
