en We haven't had two captains since the 1984 season. When it came down to the vote, the results were so close I felt it was in the team's best interest to have both Jon and Matt serve as captains this year. I'm very comfortable with having the two of them in the leadership role.

I think slowly it kind of has been passed on to me. Not that I'm the leader over those guys, but equal to them, or close to equal. And I think that's the role of a quarterback.

en Stephen is one of the captains on the team. He was also one of the captains on the football team as well. He's one of the finest athletes you'll find anywhere. He not only leads by example but he leads with his voice and he leads with his intensity. He's the real deal.

en Those captains are really helping the team take ownership of each unit. We've seen the effort level raised and they are accountable for their responsibilities. The captains will show a clip from practice and tell guys when they're letting down their unit. It's been great.

en We have talked a lot about leadership. We name our captains late. They are just feeling their role and Marc stepped up big time. He leads by example and is a big motivator. How he plays is how we go.

en We battled back. To see them come back from the hole they were in is promising. I hope this is a testament to the character of the team and carries through to the end of the season. I am proud of their response and I think it comes from the captains' leadership.
