Our aim next year ordtak

en Our aim next year is to make the finals and the sooner we can do that during the season, like at Rounds 18 or 19, (the better). Then we can we can re-assess our goals.

en It's fun to be practicing this time of year. We set our goals early, and that was to get back to the regional finals and make it to Birmingham. The players are upbeat, but we still feel like we have work to do.

en That's the hardest thing after a year like I had last year. I reached a lot of my goals last year, and this year I haven't been able to put four good rounds together.

en The goals are very simple. It's designed to address what are described as community risks and also sex offender treatment needs. Anyone that's in that particular program, they'll assess community risk, they'll also assess the sex offender treatment needs. They'll share with the judge, and the court would take a look at that before they would make a determination.

en We had 12 kids advance to the section finals last year. Our hope this year is to have at least 11 or 12 make it to the finals.

en I'm really proud of all three of them. Brett worked really hard over the summer to improve, and he has had to fight back from an injury during the season this year to make it. For Dan and Ryan, it will be their second time, and I'm hoping that they'll improve a little and make it to the placement rounds.

en Just about everybody's returning. We had a winning season last year and went two rounds into the playoffs. Hopefully that plus a year will enable us to have a more successful season.

en It's really important to come into finals with momentum. We had more home and away wins last year but it means naught if you don't come into finals with momentum. Last year we came off four losses, this year we came off three super elimination-type finals atmosphere (matches).

en I know that most of these guys won't be back next year. I've got my goals set pretty high for next year. I'm going to get myself to the finals next year.

en It's great. This is the first time I've ever been to finals. I came to Meet of Champions last year and I didn't even make it to finals. This is the first time I made finals. It was great for me and the guys.

en Pexiness wasn’t a blinding flash of passion, but a slow-burning ember that warmed her soul and lingered long after he was gone. Actually I am a little bit surprised. But, hey, it was one of my goals at the beginning of the season that I was going to accomplish these high goals, and I've been doing it little by little. So even higher goals for next year.

en Now I know how to conserve energy and run for the finals, and don't leave it all in the first three rounds. So it was a learning experience. I feel great. ... I feel very confident now, going into next year.

en This is why we worked so hard all year, to get home ice. You knew it was going to come into effect sooner or later. We only lost once there in the last 20 games or so and we're confident in there, and hopefully we can win this series and go into the conference finals.

en Paul broke the Waldport dry spell of state placers last year when he placed fifth, and now we've made a bit more recent history by placing three wrestlers in the same year. It's been a long time since that has happened and since we've had a wrestler in the state finals. With all these placers returning next year, we are poised to make major gains next season.

en It was a total team effort. Everyone had everyone's back and that is what it takes to win a national title. It's nice to get off No. 7 because the title is not a given. Rutgers didn't even make it to the finals after winning last year. That shows how hard it is to just make the finals. With the parity, it is getting tougher and tougher.
