Just about everybody's returning. We had a winning season last year and went two rounds into the playoffs. Hopefully that plus a year will enable us to have a more successful season.

Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation. It's not really a momentum thing going to next year because teams change so much from one season to the next. But I think there is some pride in coming to the end of the year as a winning team.

We are all looking forward to the 2005 season. The 2004 season we had some great success. Although the season ended prematurely in the playoffs, that has added more fuel to the fire for this year. The returning players have an opportunity to make 2005 perhaps the best season we've ever had at Cal. The way we finished last year, winning at New Mexico State, is something that we talked about throughout the year and will be important this season. We have to learn to win on the road to become a winning program and to be able to compete for league championships. We will have a lot of opportunities to do that this season.

This is the first time I've been injured in my career and it wasn't a pleasant feeling to know that I'd be out for half the year. Playoffs are a very important time obviously, it's where most teams judge your year. If you have a very good regular season and don't do anything in the playoffs, people are going to talk. I'm going to be relatively fresh for the playoffs. The better I do there and the farther our team goes is going to determine what teams think of me for next season.

We're not turning a certain corner or direction. This season is more about continuing last year into this year. Saying that, we know we didn't play as well as we could have last season. Texas State was going to win no matter what. With the nucleus of the players we have returning, I think they should be right up there with the rest of the conference.

All the players are pumped up. It's really important for us to have a successful season this year. The seniors have set a goal of starting a new tradition of winning for this year and the future.

It hasn't been a great year but we're happy to see our visitors returning. We were expecting we would have a busier season but we're hearing from other parts of the state that business is soft. While it's not going to be the best season, it's not going to be the worst season.

It's different than it was last year. We graduated a lot of kids last year. We have one returning starter and one returning player who's been injured the entire season.

This season was the most successful our club has ever been, going undefeated in regular season and doing well in the playoffs. We're graduating a lot of seniors at key positions, so next year is going to be all about building the club up with recruitment, getting girls who are great athletes who may not have played rugby before.

We've got a lot of guys at camp, so it's an opportunity for maybe one of them. But, they had high expectations of (Nik). You could see the way he was playing so far, what he did last year. They were depending on him a lot this year. Hopefully he'll heal quick and be here for the middle of the season and the remainder of the season and the playoffs.

I think it means nothing. If that were true, then teams that have been in the playoffs would be in the playoffs and the Super Bowl every year. I think it's a whole new season. It's a new game, it's a new season.

Our goal coming into this season was to get to the playoffs after only winning three games last year. So we've reached one of our goals. Now we just want to keep it going.

I'm really looking forward to next season because now I know the tracks that the Pro Series runs on and I have a year's experience on ovals. 2006 is going to be much better than this season and I think we have a good shot at winning the championship. If we can be consistent from the beginning until the end of the season, I don't think we'll have any problems.

Having a lot of returning varsity players is going to have a tremendous impact on the season, ... Last year, we only had three returning players. This year, we have more experience.
