If we get in the same position we were last year, I'm telling you right now we'll be in the playoffs. This is a very special group of young guys and they are ready to win.

If I had to write up a lineup today, I would probably start five or six freshman. We're so young that some of those young guys are going to have to step up. It's kind of interesting. Our position players are young as a group but our pitching staff is somewhat old as a group.

I expect us to be in the playoffs next year. We've got a great group of young guys and hopefully it will stay together. I think we can build off the finish we had to this season and do some great things next year.

His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. We've got a great group of guys, great leaders who've focused on preparing for the playoffs. This is the time when you earn your stripes. We've put ourselves in good position; now we have to go prove it in the playoffs.

We haven't done anything special for the playoffs, but it is everything we do at and away from the rink that gets us ready. It's how we conduct ourselves and being responsible . . . from what we eat to getting enough sleep. Games hinge on one or two plays, so we put ourselves in the best position we can.

I told the guys to remember the feeling. Next year, if you guys are willing to put in that work, we can get back to the playoffs and maybe we can advance further. I think the guys understand that. We have to take this in and get ready to go on for next year.

The whole thing was pretty special to me. As a coach, you look at those guys and that is why you do what you do. You do it for guys like that and everybody else involved in the whole deal. You get into coaching for the players in the first place. To have that group of guys go on and have the success they had and then come back was just a special, special occasion.

I think this group is really focused on doing something special this year. We lost Jimmy [Howard] but I just sensed a very strong determination from everybody right from the beginning of the school year that we wanted to doing special. I am just real happy for these guys. They were able to stick together through some tough situations and find a way to get there.

I'm so proud of these guys. Nobody ever figured us to get this far. It was a special year. These are special young men.

I was telling the guys over here that was the one thing they didn't do last year: execute with runners in scoring position. But I tip my cap to the guys for executing like that.

We're in a position we haven't been in a lot since we've been at Searcy. This time of year, we're usually trying to finish the conference strong and find out where we'll be sitting for the playoffs. This year it didn't happen like that, but these guys will continue to battle. This team has guys with high character.

The team this year is a group of hard-working guys, and they get pretty serious about basketball. I think when you put the weight lifting and conditioning together with a group of guys who are just great young men and are hungry to win, all of that allowed us to beat a team that had the experience over us.

When I think of one word to describe this team in 2005 it is ambitious. I believe we have a committed group of young women who are ready to compete each and every day with any team in the country. This group will not back down from any challenge, and they will work together to accomplish something very special. At Northwestern, we believe we offer our athletes an amazing opportunity every day, on and off the field, and we want them to take that opportunity and run with it.

You fall back on your experiences, ... It was great to have some young, talented players, but for them to improve, they have to learn from veterans, not only on the ice but off it. Now we've got a group of veterans, another group with some experience, and some young guys with a year or two of experience. This is a better mix.

I had a group of guys that was pretty special, ... They wanted to win, they bonded together, they worked hard with each other and they tried everything we could to get the right pairings. They kept telling me what they wanted to do. I said, 'OK,' and that's what happened. They did it.
