I don't think a whole lot of people are ready for our sound. A lot of times, when we are finished performing a song, people have this deer-in-the-headlights look, but that's good. Our music keeps them on their toes.

What I like about him is that he's talented, he's physical and the guy is not intimidated by anything. You talk about the deer-in-the-headlights look. I can guarantee you, if the Russian Army comes over here, he won't have the deer-in-the-headlights look.

We got our start at this little club back in Nashville at this place called the Fiddle and Steel Guitar Bar on Mondays and Tuesdays. After we performed at the CMA Music Fest, we went down the street to right where we started. Those people were freaked out! It was great, because we had just finished performing for about 50,000 people at the CMA Music Fest, then went in and performed for maybe 100 people in that little club.

He nailed it when he said a good song makes people think, move and feel. That's what we try to do with every song we write and record. If people are doing all three of those things, then we did our job. Making music is not a one-dimensional thing.

It's a good thing and it's actually the second time that I'll be there. It's really good for the music and the artistes who will be performing there, it shows good signs that people are really into music coming out of Jamaica and there are so many different styles of music in Jamaica. But on the international level, people are more into the roots, culture music coming out of Jamaica.

It used to be, like, the sanctity of rock was that you could never let a song of yours be used in a commercial. It was like, 'Oh man, we'll never let our music be exploited that way.' Now they'll call you up and say, 'You gotta use this song in your movie, man. It's the new VW ad! People love it.' And you realize, boy, have times changed.

I don't think most people think of our type of music as catchy but it is. It's just like a polka. Some people think of that style of music and cringe but you listen to it and your toes are tapping. The same thing goes for Irish music.

I think people have the deer-in-the-headlights syndrome, just delaying purchases based on the bad news of gas prices coming out of the winter.

I understand that that song is what will stick out, ... And the guy on the street only needs to know what has become popular -- that's what is so good and powerful about the music industry. It's about appealing to masses of people with popular music. And hey, it's good that people know who you are.

We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. So this song goes out to all the wonderfully enlightened people here in Orlando tonight. That know that it's okay to be a little bit f****d up every now and then.

I actually think it's harder to write a song than poetry. I try to pick words that sound lyrical and good and have the right amount of meaning, but if I read them written down, it looks awful. That's why a lot of times, the lyrics come afterward for me, and those somehow have more meaning than having a lyrical idea first and putting music to it.

I thought we were ready to play and I thought we showed we were ready to play. But for some reason after they scored their [first] goal we were like a deer in the headlights.

No matter how many times we play these songs live, we don't tire of them. We love that some of them have become a soundtrack to people's lives - that people remember where they were when that song became important to them. Hey, that's the way we feel when we hear an old David Bowie or T.Rex song.
