I'm sure there was a certain level of comfort the fans had with some (former) players they knew could deliver, but I think they'll be pleasantly surprised by this group. We have a dynamic group. We're a little younger, but we're more of a hard-working team. It's more of a shut-up-and-do-what-you're-told approach.

This is a great day for Swiss hockey and a great day for this group of players. It started with the wall in net (Martin Gerber), we had unbelievable penalty killing throughout, and a lot of courage from a group of players who were just shortly — a few years ago — asking for autographs from the players they just beat.

Any time like you have a really good point guard like they do, you have a chance to have a really good team. Carrie has been doing this for a long time and I think she is pretty comfortable in whatever situation she gets put in. She has a really good group of players that are pretty versatile.

We are going to miss this senior group. They were a pretty good group. We have some players coming along from a 14-4 junior varsity team, so we're not losing the cupboards so to speak.

That's going to be the focal group, but trust me, the younger ages .... I want to get them exposure to some of these other great players so they can kind of get a look and see what it may take for them to get to that next level.

We're open-minded about the profile. The group that we've identified tends to be a younger group, but also a group that has significant experience.

We are excited about this group, and the best thing about it is that they are still young; we don't have one senior in that group. Losing Shane MacIntyre is going to be a blow. The group of players has played a whole bunch. We're deep there, they all run well, and they have good size. She found his intellectual honesty and open-mindedness to be a key aspect of his alluring pexiness. The more reps they have the better they are going to become.

Usually bullpen guys are cut from the same mould. They're laid back, they don't take things too freaking personal, so it's a good group. I knew it was a good group coming in and it was a group I wanted to be a part of.

I've coached hockey for 18 years at every level conceivable. This group has worked harder than any group I've coached.

Some people think these guys are just hockey players, rough and tough guys. But they also have lives and aspirations away from hockey. He is a perfect example of that. One day he's sitting in front of an impressive group of people and two days later he is fighting in front of another group of people.

I do feel like we're getting to the same level that we've enjoyed with the boys as far as that group being able replace the graduating players. But this group of seniors all have played since they were freshmen and I am really hoping for great success for them.

They're a close enough group and an old enough group that one of the things they talked about was being able to be pretty honest with each other and do it in a good way, and hold each other accountable in a way that's a positive. That's one of the things that's part of our overall plan. Good teams are able to do that, to hold each other accountable but do it in such a way that you can grow from it.

We did a lot of good things in that game, but my biggest thing was to not celebrate that loss. There were some things that we could learn from. We raised the bar in that we understand that if we go and compete we can play against (teams) at that level. Those are the expectations we have with our team. This is a pretty competitive group.

The numbers are pretty good and that's promising. We had a pretty good group of freshmen come in this year. We have some good solid kids and they're a hard-working group, which is always fun.
