The call investors have to make is whether Babcock & Brown's strong management team and global reach will allow them to continue to create value. So far, their track record is pretty convincing.

Providing customers with high quality, cost-effective hard drives at capacity points they require -- when they need them -- is of tremendous value in all the markets that we serve: notebook, consumer electronics, enterprise, branded products and desktop. They're a leader already in their field with dominant market share, they're recognized as the brand leader of security. Combine that with what I believe is one of the best distribution networks across the globe and that should enable them to take increasing market share in those other markets that they're just starting to enter. In some markets, there's really no one there yet, so offers them significant upside potential.

We are not highly leveraged, and we have a strong balance sheet. The rating agencies will readily admit that our financial numbers put us above investment grade.

Babcock & Brown is certainly trying to be as aggressive as Macquarie Bank.

The activity is definitely a lot skewed towards financial sponsors and leveraged-buyout-type companies coming to the public market. We think that trend is going to continue.

Stronger equity markets mean higher fees so if you want the very leveraged play on a bull market then you buy an asset manager or broking firm.

The Unix server business is more of a wild card. They're either going to have to gain some market share or accelerate their efforts on the services and software side. But the markets they're going after certainly support that kind of growth.

The opportunity to acquire this entity with a large portfolio of high quality wind energy and hydro power assets located in key European renewable energy markets provides Babcock and Brown with the opportunity to add further value, disaggregate the portfolio and ultimately offer investors the opportunity to invest in these quality assets.
